Hi there from over the ditch.I just got myself a Comp cam 54-412-11 or if you like XR265HR,and some springs to go for this LS1.its a bit of a hard one trying to get a nice weeeee lump te lump and not drink gas to bad.This cam i understand will give good allover sit me in the seat and economy.However im an old V8 chap that remembers insane cars that almost rendered you unconious with grunt,and i loved the sound of the cam.My VY was pretty crap when i first got it,Have had to spend spend to make the wheels turn,So far mods, airbox with another whole,then K&N Panel,CS Performance Mafless Pip,Try ys,no cats replacment pips,VQ Rage big Bore, Mafless Tune.I think this cam is not gana give me that lump i like,Question,Whats guna give the Lump with resonable Economy?Also does anyone no why the tune turns rich again?bad economy at about 16.8 to17.3 at 100Ks.with the wife driving.

NO laws yet,although they are trying,so go hard till then.Yes that is the cam,Think im going to onsell and look at others.Maybe the 275 cam.One problem here in NZ is to find a Tuner as i would need to retune with a bigger cam.
Mate I have a very small and similar cam in my VY Auto, its has a nice just above stock lumpy idle.
If you go a massive cam you will suck fuel and loose street drivability.

Cheers for the welcome,I was thinking just the next step up for the cam,Comp cam has in there technical page some Audio sounds of some of there Cams,Interesting to listen to them.However this would depend on Exhaust typ.My Comme has a bit of a crakle at the start of foot down then turns into of a race sound,Infact it sound very sim to the white VY SS at the drags on another thread,there was a link to the vid.Wow she goes off.What Cam do you have? and what do you think of it?

In an A4 but in a M6 it would be a bit different IMHO, just MHHO :D

Yep Highlander, thats the Comme doin the drag,Nothin better than go fast,and good torque.As far as gas and who gives a.Well I like the comme to work for me, not me work for it.Three kids and a wife.Can still get loads of grunt with economy with the right combination of modes and tune.Hard to resist the temptation to get more grunt though.thats y we are petrol heads.:beer:

econamy, thats the reason i brought the sv6 . i hear there is a 220/220 with .580 on the lift, texas speed make it i think, that stick with a good tune might just be the answer to your prayers ;)

thats the kiwi spirit mate, i got a 400 twin turbo with a nice turbo cam inside her. 5 bucks a squirt on the road but well worth the look on peoples faces, especially the new farrari i whipped the other day and two bikes :lmao:

You may be referring to Lautray (Eriks) white SS.
Has a 224/228 cam and heads.

Ye thats the comme,Gota love it Ah.Think as iv already got this cam ill give it a wheerl,can always upgrade later.T,Kiwi,do you get the, Out of control laughing fits as you blow expensive sports cars.I get a head rush,its all good.Highlander,think ill poke some holes in my exhaust or maybe wind the window down and make a good cam noise with the old voice box.:nopity: :nopity:

White vx ss :D. CompCams 224/228 112lsa great cam. Lumpy-ish idle at 800rpm. Much better than stock down low, but give it 3000+ & then yeehah all the way to ~7000. Russo heads have definitely helped the midrange. Definitely turns the tyres much easier now. Uber highway cruising economy if that's your thing too :).
Also, if you want lumpier idle with this cam, wind back the idle rpm a bit more... <800rpm. If that doesn't shake, nothing will.
