Hey all

Just a quick 'anyone interested topic' ... as it says, EOI in a Sydney skid pan day later on in the year??

Ive got a few mates who want to take their cars to the pan who have never done it before, and I've just got a new car I'm wanting to try out too and get a better understanding of in the wet.

Because we're only a small group (all of 5 or 6 cars) I thought I'd ask here to see if any trackchatters would like to help make up numbers for a good day out ... its been a while since the last one and I'm sure theres some of us just itching to go out again.

Please let me know, if we get enough numbers interested we'll look at who, where, when and cost ... but ideally Aaron McGill at Eastern Creek (he seems to have the best setup and I know a few members have been on his days before).

The other EOI that I wanted to ask while I'm here is about the possibility of a track day, perhaps Wakefield, but once again we want the numbers so we have a track full of people we can trust not to go stupid on it, because we are a group of V6es and dont really need a track full of people trying to show us how much power their car has when we just want to have a fun day out.

Let me know if your interested in track day or skidpan day and we'll go from there

Skidpan day, yes, trackday, yes. Maybe you could time the TD so it doesn't clash with the wakefield one in september. How about August, or maybe October/November. Skidpan any month will suit me, would only be able to do weekends though.

T_Kiwi was looking at getting a skidpan day together for the wife/g'friends. Might be worth combining.

Count me in for sure! :yep:

I've done a Aaron McGill skid pan evening at EC and loved it. Really good driver training and they make it a fun night out!

just to keep it simple I might just stick to a skidpan day a.t.m.

These people havent taken their cars to a track for any sort of event and I think a skid pan would be a great intro, simple, cheap (can be cheaper then track hire) and you get enough shots at it throughout the day to the point your sick of it and are just happy sitting down but more importantly funa nd educational.

I'm looking at perhaps a mid to late August weekend.

Can I have a show of hands those interested in a skid pan day in mid to late August

Good idea Goof but I have that much on between now and October that I doubt I could do it ... good luck with the numbers.

Nick I can understand!

I'm multi foruming at the moment as some members would have worked out by now. We dont have enough numbers on one to do anything fun and I figured we would be able to get the numbers from a few forums of those that arent attending anything in the near future.

It looks like we may be in for a Wakefield day purely because I cant seem to contact the company I was hoping to host the skidpan day and the wakefield day seems to be easier to organise/plan except it would be held on a weekday.

That said we wouldnt be looking till August or September so everyone would have plenty of notice.

Please don't do it in september mate, we already have a thread going for the 24th. Maybe go October / November instead if you can't do august?

Also why a weekday? I get paid by the hour so I lose money if it isn't a weekend :(

Weekends cost A LOT more, for Wakefield anyway ... you gotta have some time off eventually, stop worrying about the fact that you get paid by the hour and just have a day off. I'm in the same boat, if I'm not at work I'm not earning anything, but I don't want to spend my life at work !!!

Fair point Nick. I suppose if the trackday was at a weekend it could be twice as much money each, so the saving offsets the opportunity cost from not working a bit.
