Console Compartment Door/Clip Replacement

A common problem for VT/VX ,

There is a little clip which holds the door closed ,that wears ,you can buy that from Holden for about $20.00 ,or you can buy the whole mechanism which includes the locking clip for $47.00

Here`s how to remove door and mechanism:

Step 1. Pull out L.H hinge pin

Step 2. With slight pressure where the mechanism hinge pin is located pull outwards .

I put up with it for about 12months Erik ,till it really got to me and I HAD to do something about it.

I have no less than three of these busted at the moment, two in the family car and one in the munro. Really crapo design, not robust.

When you pull out the whole mechanism you see how poorly designed the clip is ,its the same clip thats holds the drink holder lid in the centre console on the Berlina/Calais, I suppose thats the next one to wear out :rolleyes:
