Well Guys and Girls I managed to sell my VS so I am now able to enter the VIC dutton:driving: I have had to enlist the help of a mate who is going to take care of the Co-driver duties (Erik and Duncan might remember him from Wakefeild park along time ago, a Blown Silver VX Clubbie that would of had smoke pouring of the rear tyres!)

The Events starts on the 31st of this month so we have a bit of work to do. But really looking forward to getting a few laps of Winton and Sandown.

Cheers,

John

Tried that Bomi, no joy. Anyway, went to Winton today, well I got to see all of the afternoon session, and the dregs of the morning session. There were some damn nice cars there, some good drivers too. John (our very own trackchat representative) and his co - driver seemed to do pretty well - the ute is a beast. The Evo's and Porsches dominated, the standard 04/05 WRX driver discovered U N D E R S T E E R !!!!! IN A BIG WAY OFF TURN 3. Got a few pics but I can never work out how to put em up, and they were rubbish anyway - sorry guys.

Ill have to send with the footage of the off at Sandown as well. 3 buckled rims, 1 square rim. Thanks to John (PSI) who helped organise another rim and tyre so we could keep going (i left my spare wheel at home.

A big thanks to mark HSV-105 who lent me his new $5500 front Konis out of his brand new race car after we broke a shock in practice on Thursday.

Great fun weekend though.

What an awsome event!!!!:yep:

I must say that with my limited FAST driving experience in any car (1 day at wakefield and that hillclimb the other month) im wrapped with my results. I got two top tens outright (3rd and 7th)

My biggest scare  was coming off at Sandown turn 1 from 220Km's, braking at the 100 mark, sliding 10-15m off the outside heading for the kitty litter. But the EVO was up for some rally action so i gunned 2nd for the track and ended up with a huge smile on my face!!:)

We had SH*T loads of problems with the car....bent a clutch, broke the gear selector, broke an engine mount, had loosening front wheels, but we finished which is the best bit.

It's probably twice as hard as i thought it was going to be, and i'll be back for more (if Dad will let me drive it?)

You know that car has huge sentimental value to me Steve. I rckon it must be worth $300,000

Whoohooo! I didn't bend it! Came close at Winton (about 500mm from wall , but Darren couldn't see it from where he was standing) So my $300k stays in my pocket!

Is (59) your ather car Darren?

Yup  co-driving for Ahmed the speed freak

Huge thanks to Mark aswell - if it wasn't for Mark and Darren's ability to get on the phone and organise anything you need in an instant, i wouldn't have enven started the Dutton - that was the car i was in - so no shock, no race.... we got it thanks to Mark and allowed us to compete - THANKS!!

If anyone needs tuition on how to make a car leap 3m in the air @ 120km/hr - just ask Darren :stick: :lmao: - the photos are almost worth the 4 busted wheels!

Just a final public BIG THANKS to Darren (Justice) for the loan car and without doubt the best 5 days ive had in memory - with or without my pants on! Taking 3 cars down is a massive challenge not to mention cost and outright pain-in-the-arse. Darren couldn't concentrate on his own machine/driving as we in the other 2 cars (so 4 other drivers!) became increasingly demanding with breakages and questions - Darren just got on with it, fixed things in minutes and made sure we were all treated like royality (trust me when your with Darren, you can get away with anything :stupid: ).

Ive said it a hundred times now - but thanks!

Now all i have to do is build my own for the 08 series! I aint missing the next one!

We are very lucky to have the type of access to tracks we do, its a shame more of the commodore guys dont make better use of them.
The commodore is underated as a track car in my opinion. It is flawed whilst stock, but comparitively it improves hugely from suspension upgrades. Add some brakes and tyres and your done.

Hi chris

Good to see you here mate. Not sure on the compound. I bought the last 2 295 in australia so I didnt care. I will check them out for compound. I found they wore really well. That GTR was a weapon. I think the Berry /newman black GTR is the best road rally GTR I have ever seen. The blue one is good, I think the black has the edge.
