As promised I have got my time slips and added up all my runs.

Below are the times that I ran in my VY SS II at the Winter Drag Day :D

At the bottom of each column you will find the average for each then under that I have put THE best time for that column.

I tried stalling my car up 3 or 4 times but that lead me to creeping over the start line and starting the timer pre launch or braking traction on the line and wheel spinning 60'. I think my MT ET's are stuffed (no tread left) so some new ones could help there. Anyway, I removed those 3 or 4 times as they were not a true representation of the cars performance.

All the times above are just stabbing the throttle on the green light.

A big thank you goes out firstly to Sonny and the whole team at Marrannos Enhancement division and to Craig and his team at Craigs automatics. Craig fitted my 3500 RPM Dominator stally.

Looking forward to some new rubber and a few auto trans tune tweeks to lower the ET a little bit more. Hmmmm maybe even some softer suspension to lower the time :D

Forgot to say, IM FRIGGIN STOKED WITH MY NEW TIME!!!!!! :yep::yep::yep:

Such a small cam and limited drag set up and a 11.870 at 115 MPH :thumbs:

I think my MT ET's are stuffed (no tread left) so some new ones could help there.

I thought thats when the MT's are at their best. Nice consistent and fast times their Troy.

Youre not the first person to say that Simon, IMHO they are poo at the moment and wont get any better as the traed pattern is gone, this says that they are fairly worn out!!

BTW, I didn't realise you got your auto done and fitted at craigs, I've given a couple of forum members the bum steer then...

Did you run the bolded time as in 11.7 or is it a typo, if yes you are selling yourself outta a PB.

Either way very impressive.

WRT cam grind out of curiousity do you have any idea what sorta lift it has because if you are running 921s I am guessing 0.580" + (I got no idea just figuring it must be fairly high as I thought 918s were rated to 0.600")

Whatever it is mate ... it's SMALL !!! You wouldn't even know it was there, low idle and very smooth.

Sonny might not give out the exact cam specs ( and the SUPER SECRETIVE team Russo can hardly worry about that :stick: ) but he does tell you what he is doing. He has said that the cam is real small, don't use the word "baby" if you want, but it's small.

Congrats Troy ... the exact CAM size is really irrelevant but it makes a mockery of many much bigger cammed cars and also many fitted with heads and a lot of other crap for that matter. :waving:

Kudos where it's due ... 11.8 is "reasonably" :D quick, well done :bravo:

I love baby cams, the cam in my car is tiny relative to the motor.. it is a fetus cam (but not for long)

Hey Luke, thats my Aixelsyd playing up again, it was a 11.874, I ran two of them back to back, in a space of 4 minutes to be exact. What are the chances of doing that on the 1/4 mile? :eek:

IRT the Cam lift specs I dont know them I only know that the cam is in the 116/118 ball park.


I do appreciate that it is on the smaller side :). Have heard Troy's idle, & you can tell it's not huge. Not knocking it at all. I am just sick of the term. Plenty baby cam this & that on ls1, if you know what I mean ;) ;).

Yeah I remember you running successive 11.87s at 114 I was spectation by that stage.

Re specs yeah doesn't phase me at all just curious as it obviously works, I just figured it was a high lift setup and not too large on the duration

Glad you are stoked, you seemed a little busy to be stoked at the time.

I have no idea what's in mine, but I gather turbo cams are usually quite small ... mine isn't ( ... then again, in relation to 412ci, maybe it's a premi cam )

So true, lift is more important than duration in ls1's, main thing is...if it can go from 0-400m in 11 seconds its FAST! :smiles:

My next cam will be deviating from the current popularity of small duration, high lift... im calling it the BIG F*%KER cam. :p

This afternoon went for a ride/drive in mates car, with bigger camshaft (not sure of specs yet, suspect its in 228 region) than the baby cam in mine (220s)
and DAMN, makes me want to swap up. Had great torque down low at 2000rpm and went like a scaled cat...
