Dave, the Goon looks very nice:bravo: , do you know if the fuel tank is in the same spot as a ute?, it would look hot with quad pipes out the back.
I'm getting a little bug for the Wagons now after the last drag day, they can look awsome with modifications.

They seem pretty good ... due to the large size of the slots, there's a bit of audible humming under hard braking but easily better than the stockers. I've only driven on them in day to day traffic so can't really comment on what they would be like at the pointy end of braking.
Cost around $600-ish over a period of time incl pads.

Yo ... fireHAT :waving: the springs were approx $500 fitted with Wheel alignment. If you're an NRMA member they give you @ 10% discount. :D Ring Mick and speak to him, nice guy and apparently they also do finance if that's relevant.
Thanks for the comments guys ... a wagon need not only be a item where finger prints and food are the order of the day !!!! :headbang:

And yes, lead 1 is close. A little too close. I should be able to fix that but.

Well here are some pics and details of my Ute, it all started at the end of last year when i noticed the new VE Utes had been released. After a quick look over one and a test drive i had to have one, 2 weeks later i picked up my white VE SSv M6 Ute.
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x308/Muncha81/VE/6L-1.jpg
After a while i joined a well know ls1 based car forum and noticed they were having a drag day, bad idea as i am now hooked. Anyway after the 25+ passes that day and a few more street meets i needed to fix the axle tramp so i fitted some bilstein shocks. They worked great.
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x308/Muncha81/VE/25042008779.jpg
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x308/Muncha81/VE/25042008780.jpg
After about another 20 odd runs i managed to get my pb down to 13.1@104mph, i was very happy.
I have now decided to have a go at the VE bolt-on record, after a bit of research i decided to go to Castle hill Exhaust.
I ended up with a new TEX Zgrip clutch, 1 7/8 headers, twin 3 inch exhaust, 25% udp, CHE otr and a HSV 3.7 diff. All up i ended up with 277rwkw.
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x308/Muncha81/VE/20072008817.jpg
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x308/Muncha81/VE/20072008820.jpg
Then i took it out to WSID to see what i could do, well i don't know what happened but for some reason i was driving like pensioner with missed gears and stuffed up launches, not very happy and only managed a 13.7 but upped my mph to 108. There is definitely a lot more in the car when i get a handle on the clutch etc.
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x308/Muncha81/VE/DSC_0445.jpg
I will be going to wsid over the next few weeks with street rubber until my front runners arrive, then it will be time to get serious with slicks and try to get the record of Mick.

IPRA CAMS spec cage,
One or two piece 600rwkw rated drive shaft,
more suspension work or upgrades to higher spring rates
in car lap timing and engine analysis system and
several other little mods to get the car CAMS approved for Improved Production like toe hooks, battery isolator, new racing seat, brake bias gear etc.
The degree things go to with the upgraded cam / engine / heads / oil system and fuel type/delivery and gearbox will depend on money. I am thinking something around a 6L dry sump engine pushing 400+rwkw is achievable but we will see and will depend on what level the sponsors are willing to go.
I am still intending to use it for everyday duties in the short term.

I like the steering wheel GTS Listy, Is it driven on the street with the side exhaust? How loud is it?
GTS Listy
03-08-2008, 02:40 PM
No, but I wish. I change it on some race days, not all but. Just comes out after the cats. Takes about 20 min to change.
I have a video I will put up on monday. Scary loud but the people normally say they love the sound. Real low throuty sound. Can not seem to get a good timed lap to see if there are gains as it is difficult to concentrate inside with all that noise. I have it coming out the drivers side too which is more noise again. One day I will get the hang of it.
The steering wheel is great. Feels great on the stree, never gets hot after leaving the car in the sun and feels so much grippier with gloves on. The interior seems to work with the look also.

Nice vid there Listy, a few mates made the trip up theer in 2002 for the V8 supercars and raced in IP. My engine builder took his new Datsun 1200 up there and got the lap record of 1.18.5, he loved the track but the turbo didnt like the heat, he had to drop his boost by 10psi or 50hp.. ping...ping. He rekoned with some cool weather and more boost a low 1.17 high 16 would be achievable. It was the cars second outing and it eventually went a lot faster .

Hi All!
As this thread is now getting a bit cumbersome, especially for new members,
we have opened a new seciton of the forum just for our cars.
Go to Community ---> Your Car / My Car
Open a new thread and tells us more.
You can grab the 'template' from the opening thread if you wish.
