After getting exellent 1/4 mile results with mickve's ssv we have been very busy with the L98 LS2 upgrades. our latest project a LS2 VE GTS M6.
Before putting a spanner to it we rolled it on the dyno it made a very disapointing 208rwkw. After talking with the customer we decided we would start with a cam , springs, 4/1 extractors and a dual 3 inch system.
Over the next few days i will post up dyno results and when we are happy with the car we will take it out to WSID and put it to the real test.
Here is a couple of pics.

It will be good to see the potential....
208kw seems very low... isnt that like 270ish fwkw?

208rwkw is really low for an M6 ... mine pulled 220 odd stock and it's an A6 ... bugger.

Oh well, no doubt those numbers will be somewhat larger by the time you guys have finished. Will the owner be driving it at WSID ? Do they have experience ?

Look forward to the results.

Dam that is low, I think mine pulled just over 235kwrw stock, but it had a good break in at Wakefield :bravo:

Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of variables in these engines still. The good news is that each and every one of them can be improved significantly with not a huge amount of outlay :yep:

BTW, love the black rims on the black car - very sinister, very cool!!

yeah 208kw was very dissapointing i was expecting around 230 standard.

We completed the the cam change we put a double row timming chain springs an ud pulley + pacemacker 4 into 1s some high flow metal cats and a 3 inch cat back, put it on the dyno and after 15 minutes off tunning we started seeing the numbers climb to around the 260 mark then the clutch let go.

We were a little supprised as the car has only 6000km on it. So we put a tex z grip in it back on the dyno and after a bit off tunning we now have 290 rwkw.

The customer is happy for us to race it so we will be keen to get it to WSID and get some track results.

The clutch let go???? Am I detecting the scent of lemon here??? I would be very upset if my clutch let go at such low kays, and at such a low power level. The clutch is possibly the reason for the low initial reading??

I think you will find the clutch failed when the car was putting out around 290kwrw, but, the dyno read 260kwrw as the clutch was able handle the 290kwrw... (at a guess)

perhaps the clutch was progressively letting go, contributing to the original (low) number, it seems likely, but we'll never know.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say in my earlier post...:)
