Well dad and I spent half of today installing/making our DIY brake ducting. I removed the front fog lights to use that area as air intakes. Because of the size of the hole in the bumper, and the size of brake ducting pipe I bought, we need a 4? 90? angled PVC elbow. Problem!!!! You don?t have 4? between the bumper bar and the chassis rail behind the hole. Solution!!!! Put the PVC elbow in boiling hot water on the stove and quickly pull it out and shape the pipe by hand. Yes, it was hot. Once you?ve checked the clearance and moulded it into the shape you need it should look like this?

Then you need to fit it to the car. I took a cue from V8Supercars here. Instead of attaching the pipe to the bumper bar, why not attach it to the car and have it so that when the bumper is on, the holes line up. This way the front bar can be removed and put back on in no time at all if you need to work on the car.
So anyway it took most of the arvo to get it all to line up and sit against the back of the front bar. Oh, and we?ve only attached the elbow on one side of the car. The silicon ducting isn?t attached to anything yet and that blue tape is just there to see how the ducting will fit behind the front bar when its attached.
To stop rocks and debris from entering the duct I moulded some wire mesh (also used in the mouth of the front bar) to fit over the hole in the front bar. It is attached to the front bar and sits between the front bar and the PVC elbow.
Im quite happy with it :D
