Hello boys and girls!

On the weekend I was contracted to shoot the evolution oz 'evonats'

What this entailed is as follows...

Fri night beers/drinks at the local
Sat all day at wakefield running against the clock in groups of similar competancy/mods
Sat night formal dinner and awards etc for sats racing
Sun all day @ hillclimb competing against the clock

Even though all I did was shoot, I had an absolute ball, and the report from all racers was that it was the best event they'd been in.

Evonats had 60 entrants and the cost for the whole weekend per driver was ~$350

What you think guys? Doable?

Just thinking out loud here!

Sounds cool.

where was the hillclimb?

I think Wakefield Park has a hillclimb track incorporated somewhere up near the top section of the circuit.

My guess ... :)

Kyle,

Great idea for the "dutton style event". It would need some dedicated organisation, but i'd be up for it for sure.

Nice one!!:woohoo:

Would love to participate but depends on whether I had a car that was up for an event like that or not at the time. BTW, this was only the second time the Evo boys have held this event and it sounds like it was even better than the first one!!! They do love their track time :bravo:

Genuine interest from me too. I'll have a slightly "improved" Russo spec engine by then :D.

Awesome idea, I'd be up for something like that ... depending on when it's run I might have something that will give the Russo boys a run for their money.

If i ever get this bloody container from the UK that has my new motor in it, i'd be in for sure, otherwise i could definately see the escort doing some hill climb action... Top Idea Kyle!!

p.s. My wife will kill me for "abusing" her escort :p

Fairbairn Hill Climb track is IMO scary... big "cahunas" needed
Hazza has done the Hill climb track.
The guys attending the Gentech dyno day - can run them out for a look see if interested

Cheers

LOL. Yeah it's scary. But after the first few runs, your heart comes off redline. It is a huge thrill, and not that bad once you have a few runs under your belt.

Here's a bit of a video of it. Looks quite tame on video LOL

Depending on when, and my commitments, I could be interested.

Especially seeing as they cancelled the QLD round of the Dutton which I was planning on competing in.

Maybe one or two other QLDers might be interested in a big road trip?

Cheers,

Garry

If its being held at Wakefield and a dedicated Hillclimb track would the cars need to be registered?
On that note does anyone know anything about club rego or historic rego? The Corty is a 1974 model so it might qualify. I imagine rego might be important for insurance purposes for these type of events. I promise I won't sue if someone has fun near me and I get scared:whip:

I've set this back a little, there's a lot to organize before a day like this can go ahead. Insurance for one.

Be patient guys :D

I am SO keen!!!

Try the AASA for insurance.
We at SAU NSW had a day at Sutton Road and was like $150.00 for insurance?

Im keen, my car LOVES those events as it isnt quick in a straight line lol!!! :D

Hillclimbs are fun, I did Mt Straight at Bathurst and I had the best adrenalin rush EVER!

Count me in!
