Just a quick public thank you to Justin and Chris who drove the dyno for us on Saturday.
We took the slingshot down there for some dyno time to start sorting out the triple SUs. We really only expected the boys to drive the dyno for us, but they contributed much, much more than that.
Nett gain of 10hp and 30nm - however we did learn heaps about what the car wants. There will be a next time with some more bits to try out, dont know when though. Between racing and testing Im all out of leave passes ATM.
Justin if your photos turned out, slot them in somewhere - Im bloody hopeless with that sort of stuff.
Again thanks heaps.
Phil
Phil, Slingshot? I have been away for some time on course so I may have missed some pics or info but what is this car Slingshot that has triple SU's?
Cheers,
Troy :)

Thanks for putting the photos up Justin - too hard to explain the car with out them.
BTW the car had a set of wheels and tyres off a hot rod (with spacers behind) to increase the rear track to wide enough to fit the dyno rollers. Then the slicks back on to fit in the trailer.
Troy - try old skool, no injection, no ecu, no bcm, no bullshit just lots of go from a small engine.
Phil
Wow,
so who drove iton the dyno? and were you concerned for your jatz crackers?

Regular driver with guidance from Chris.
He's finished breeding so no need to worry
Phil
Phil, Old Skool my first car and your weapon of a car have the same engine.
I had a HZ Kingswood with a 202.
Yours is crazy
Great stuff mate I love the whole car :yep:
Troy :)
Phil what's it like driving this thing? do the front wheels have steering input whatsoever? and what sort of gearbox does it run? does it get the front wheels airborne?

1. No I dont drive it, Im just crew and sh1tkicker
2. Its actually a 186 block running a 202 crank, with the head angle milled and offset (by a poofteenth, but its supposed to work). No cooling system or alternator. Methanol makes all the difference - bet you didnt have that on the Kingswood Troy.
3.Steering is pretty basic design but works. Car runs dead straight (seems to be pretty well engineered) so not a lot of steering required.
4. Front wheel lift is nil, we no longer bother with wheelie bars. Car is around 6mtrs long with 200hp ATW so theres a lot of length to lift.
5. Runs a manualised powerglide - diff I'm not sure, does 8 1/2" ring a bell?
6. Last time at WSID 10.12 @126mph - 9.9x is in sight with this setup once totally sorted. Once that is done we may change to SBC power.
More questions? - fire away.

I have to say the Russo Team knows their stuff! They have done a couple of things on my car now including a fantastic Mafless tune that allowed me to run a flat 13 1/4 in my bolt on Monaro at the recent private day. This was in 100% street trim and my aim is to now pop the car into the 12s in the same trim. Then I am looking at more power...
The car is fantastic to drive after the tune and feels so much gruntier right through the rev range. A pleasure to drive compared to the 169rwkw "beast" it was standard.
I would not hesitate to recommend the Russo team for any performance work your car might need!
