Hey guys

Some of you know i bought a new WM Caprice shopping trolley just before Christmas. Obviously it has the (pretty awsesome!) L98 motor. Given this car IS and will remain (?) relatively stock, we thought this was an opportunity to see what a Russo OTR and HPTuners Mafless tune will yield on an otherwise STOCK car.

The car has about 2000km on the clock; so anyway it ran up about 203 rwkw with the stocker tune and airbox. We simply swapped to a russo OTR and matching mafless tune and hey presto 239rwkw! Not bad.

Here is the dyno sheet (before and after).

We took it t the track that night and ran the stock airbox/tune vs the OR+tune. Stocker it ran 14.1@100mph and with the intake + tune we managed 13.2@105mph (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krrRM0PFdms). We havent really paid much attention to the A6 tuning side of things yet, so i think there is more in it just quietly. Dunno if we'll get time for that really Plus i dont want to frig with this car that much.

We ran the OTR with filter in, and filter out , and we only seen about 1~2kw drop in peak performance on the dyno. I was blown away.

You've gotta be happy with that. Almost a full second quicker with just a tune and cai is pretty impressive. They weigh almost 2 tonne don't they?

About 120kg more than an SS-V

We might try and get the barge back out to WSID next week, to see if we can crack a 12 with just the OTR + Tune. No M/T's - just regular radials. It should be doable in the cooler air, and with a teak or two.

It's bloody amazing what these cars can do with so little work ...

BMW M5 ... 12.8 ... $250K
Ferrari 612 Scaglietti ... 12.4 ... $600K
AMG E63 ... 13.2 ... $250K
Porsche 911 GT3 ... 12.6 ... $300K

Now clearly these cars all do things that a Caprice can't, but an essentially stock Caprice running 13-dead or even high 12's is pretty damn cool.
