Today we will see a first for Sydney, Superboats racing in Sydney harbour reaching speeds up to 250 kph.
Racing starts at 3 pm with live coverage from channel 10.
The Mainlube sponsored Maritimo boats, Maritimo and Simrad should come 1st and 2nd.
Maritimo runs V12 Lambo's naturally aspirated on pump gas at 1000hp each.
Simrad runs the new Mercruiser Race engines 540 ci Chevys with twin 2.3 Whipple's on each engine on pump gas at 1000 hp.
Possibly be a little coverage before the race showing race prep.
Cheers

Tragic new about Peter Eagle, he wasn't even registered for racing, he was just trying out a prop before he decided to race, This is why the death was released. Ski boats can be quite unstable at high speed without the skier holding the boat straight and Sydney harbour has allot of wash in all directions off the bank walls.
Unfortunelly the live telly cast has been canned :bawl: however, been asked to join the boys on the 55 ft Simrad boat to view so I'm in.
I have taken a few pictures of the Lambo and Chevy (Mercruiser) engines I'll post up later so all can ore at, the spare Chevy engines stand a little under arm pit height in the mobile workshop when standing beside.
Best places to view the race from are Mrs Macquaries chair or Point Piper however, best view point would have to be Bradley's head, should be up round 220 to 250 klms there.
Cheers

I spied the Mainlube logo on No. 11 on the news last night ... looked great Steve.
( ... bit hard to see it in Ryzz's photos ... but it's the last sign on the side next to what looks like a big red "F").
