View Full Version : Racelogic or Bosch (aftermarket) Traction Control Systems
Has anyone got experience with Racelogic and/or Bosch aftermarket traction control systems? Especially with LSx based cars?

There was Red Supercharged stroker VX SS that had the Racelogic system fitted to it in VIC. It was on the old forums, I will try and find the details. Also there was a Racelogic unit for sale on the LS1 forums at one stage that came from an LS1 powered commodore if I remember correctly.
I think Peter Starr used to supply and fit the units to Holden's but he is no longer in business I heard? Or was that a rumour?
I tracked down the Sydney supplier/fitter for the racelogic systems (forget who now) and called to have a chat a few weeks back. The guy was surprised i was calling about the system - probably because the system was originally developed in 1992 (and they probably havent sold any kits for a loong time). Yes it's old. Really old. He couldn't really quantify track gains for me either.
So i got all the doco on the system i could - and read up on how it works. Basically it hooks into your traction control system, and reads the speed of each wheel, so when it detects wheel slip it cuts power (via leaning out the fuel). That's it really. You can dial in the amount of allowable slip however. Oh and there is an optional launch control system.
Given the age of the technology, I've deided to give it a miss. Personally i think the ESP from a current commodore is probably miles better ahead - but i dont really know. I wouldn't mind trying to understand how VE ESP works, with a view to maybe retrofitting it to my VY (munro). Probably too hard i guess. If anyone knows how the system works i would like to hear about it though..

Interesting that the Track based HSV GTO in the latest SM commodores mag uses a racelogic TC system.

That car is awesome, and is a favourite of mine.
He overtook me at Sandown on the back straight.
The acceleration is brutal. I looked like my rear view mirror was on fas forward.
