Hey Guys,

Thought i would share this with you. Its an E46 330CI that belongs to my girlfriends dad. Anyway he travels alot for work and parks at Qantas valet and when he does they wash it for him. To be fair they arnt the only ones there is a local guy who washes with a chux wipe but the car hasn't been there for 12 months

Here is the result

I spent at least 4 hours working the bonnet alone, it recieved 6 stages of treatment to get it to what it is.
1- wetsand
2- Powergloss on yellow cutting pad
3- Intensive polish on yellow cutting pad
4- Intensive polish on green polishing pad
5- Final finish on blue soft polishing pad
6- Final finish on white finishing pad

The whole car took 2 whole days to complete. After pics to come as i can only do 10 pics per post

Awesome Dan.... simply stunning result.

How much wet sanding did you do and what was it to treat in particular?

CHUX WIPE !!!

I guess this car must be just down the road from me ... great result Dan, looked pretty awful before you got to it.

I use Qatas valet a lot and they have asked several times if I want the car washed, I always say "no thanks" ... think it's the right call.

Yeah its 200m away from you. Thanks.

Yes that is certainly the right answer. Its the answer he will be giving now to. I have taken over wash duties. It will be washed and waxed weekly or fortnightly depending on how much time i have that week

Hey Dan, slightly off topic... I had my car at work the other night and I was travelling along a road that had been severly chopped up by trucks after all the recent rain. I saw a truck approaching in the other direction so I pulled over to the side to let him pass. This jerkoff then flys by flat out over the potholes splashing the car with roadbase gravel. :flip1:

I have a look next morning and this is how it looks...

I have washed it as best I can but it doesnt budge. Seems very oily as well. I was going to use a bug and tar remover that I have here but I was worried about scratching the paint due to the gravel that has hardened on the surface. Any ideas??

Doubt yu will get ot off without scratching. Try the bug and tar remover, if that dosnt work use a clay bar. Try with an off the shelf one from meguairs first and if that dosnt work let me know as you will need a more agressive one.
