For those of you in the SE corner of Qld, I am doing a cruise up into the mountains as far as Queen Mary Falls.
If anyone on this forum would like to come, the details are below:
SUNDAY 22nd June 2008
Proposed route outline and timings are as follows::
Meet at Maccas Goodna, 0900 for a 0930 departure
Head out through Boonah
Dam Stopover and photo shoot. Morning tea (byo) and chat-a-thon at the dam.
Return to the main road, and exit to Queen Mary Falls Road about 10 minutes south of Boonah.
The scenery and diversity of terrain is fantastic and very worthwhile imho!!!!
Stop at the lookout point at the top of the narrow winding range bit.
Continue on to the stop at the next lookout point, at Spring Mountain Creek.
At Spring Mountain Creek, stopover for photoshoot, B.B.Q lunch and yarn. Possibly explore some walk trails ect.
The Return Route will be determined by the group at the time (numerous options are available) but for variety its worth considering Rathdowney then back through Beaudesert.
The "Drive" is but part of the fun, comeraderie and undertaking various challenges at the stopover points is where the real fun starts imho.
PS:
Oh and don't forget your uhf radios so we can chatter and hang seit along the way.
Pete
