Gday, my first day here as well. Now that i've found a turbo Ford bloke, is there much difference between an XR6 turbo motor and a Tornado/Typhoon motor? Besides more power of course..
I own one also mate... were here :P
Typhoons have different valvesprings, different intercooler and about 2psi more than an xr6t motor :)
BAturb, welcome mate!
Nice car man and thats some great RWKW's she is pumping.
So are you a circuit or drag man?
I was big into drag but am now loving circuit.
Look forward to seeing you at a Track Chat day soon.
Troy :)

no plans to do anything more, if I do and up the power it would cost big $$$ for very little more (would need bigger injectors, heavy duty valve springs, fuel pump, rebuild the trans, etc) then the power would only be up to 330rwkws before the rods would fail,
the main diff between the tornado/ typhoon engines and XR6T are as said before, the valve springs, they have stronger rods, and in the BF range they utilise the full effect of dual variable cam timing and dual knock sensors, and run 9lbs boost compared to the XR6T"s 6lbs,
Im more of a 1/4 mile drag fan but like any form of motor sport,
hope that helped out and by the way I forgot to mention I am only running 10lbs boost in my car

FORDS SUCK !!!
Everyone else was being nice, so I thought I would mix it up a bit
Seriously now ... welcome to TrackChat. Those Turbo 6s are a mighty impressive power plant, especially the Typhoon / Tornado. 280rwkw is a nice result ... good work.
