Mate did you have the red engine covers on when i tuned it for you, i dont remember seeing them.
Just let us know when you get the otr and tb and ill touch it up for you.
yep the covers were the first thing i got for the car.
i will let you no when i get the otr and tb so we can orginise something.
no economy figures as yet cause im still loving the sound and power increase but im sure ill have some accurate figures soon.

just make sure you take care of your licence.
yeah not that silly, just been gettin to 50km quickly then crusin. besides if i get caught speeding then the fine comes out of the car fund and the minister for war and finance will black ban all mods from then on.
going to need to get motivated to go in and do some overtime shifts to help fund more mods (and kitchen)

Nice and tidy Toey! I can vouch for Tim's tuning abilities. Took my very lightly modded VY SS Ute up to 240rwkw whilst still delivering superb economy (8.9L/100kms Highway) and no signs of nasty knocks!
You don't want a cheap car bra do you?:up2sum:
Cheers,
Adam
thanks for the offer but i cant bring my self to hide the front end of my car even if it does save some stone chips
so a bit of an update the car made the trip to dubbo again today where it was put ono the new dyno in town at Mr HDT's shed where it went on to put out 330.7rwhp or 246.6rwkw
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l109/david_tomek/IMG_5435.jpg
i couldnt be happier with the results considering i still need to swap the stock air intake for an otr.
thanks must go out to tim (delft maloo) for his top tune and shaun (mr hdt) for the use of his dyno

where's the vid at? i want to see the run, you dont get to really hear from inside.
I tell you i was damn impressed with how this car goes, i expected about 300rwhp/225rwkw with the stock airbox and filter and thats about it, but for some reason this car goes very well in the engine department and when it spun up 323rwhp on the first run i nearlly shite myself the afr's were spot on between 12.7-12.9 acroos the range.
The run was nice and clean and no knock so i thought we'd see if a little more timing would make a difference as the timining isnt that aggressive, i through in another 1.5* degrees and bang 330rwhp/246rwkw comes up.
nice clean pull up to the top then it looks like there might be a little valve float possibly up there causing the little wavey section at the end, i left the over rev a little rich as there was no need to lean it out as it wasnt going to make anymore power past that point and it just adds alittle safety not having lean outs in it.
im glad your happy dave, have to get an otr on there and there should be a little more in it as it was only pulling 90kpa through the stock airbox at a baro of about 99kpa, need to convince the wife it needs a cam too.
so here is the vid tim
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=ObYJHcnxzfY
notice at 25 sec in the vid the puff of black smoke that i mentioned to you
dunno about the cam in the near future, dont think i can slip that past her.
i think i spent to long with you a the maquarie inn cause when i picked her up she was sporting 2 pairs of new shoes......damn women and shoe fettishes

What i didnt tell you is that in the last run i added 1.5* of timing but pulled it back out of it when i was done.
that puff was the result of .5* of kr(knock retard)

and your injector d/c reaches a max of 80%, so you have a bit more in there left to go.
so im guessing ill have to factor in some injuectors when i do cam upgrade if i go the 230ish duration with 600ish lift, and a clutch, and diff, and brakes, and ........ lol

well the way your car makes power you might end up needing a set if you combine it with a few ohter mods eg, udp, otr, tb and such.
so been a while since posting in here so bit of an update.
since last post i have fitted a dusspeed otr and ported tb, top gun 10mm leads, irridium plugs and had the tune tweeked to suit by delft maloo.
also today the order went in for my z grip and rip shift which should arrive in the next week for me to fit up.
so all is looking good for the drag day, only 40 more days :woot:

missus not too happy about the clutch but oh well she will get over it....i hope, but a present from sydney will get me in the good books
so a long over due update on the red rocket.
at the drag day it ended up running a best e.t of 13.622 and a best mph of 107.62
so to the latest update the car got lowered yesterday and considering the new height and how rough the hyway is out here i was very pleased that it didnt bottom out at all the whole way home sitting on a 120. even the missus said she was expecting it to be as rough as guts but was quite pleasnt to ride in
so here is the new look

This pic is why I ask looks great!
not sure what springs they are apart from pedders, but i did keep the part numbers incase anyone wanted to know what they were. but seeing as i am at work i cant post them now but will do when i get home.
as for the ride it is a bit firmer but not harsh, the missus didnt even complain and she sooks about everything :hide: it is still also running fe2 shocks so ill have to see how they hold up. the 4>1 to cat flang is the only thing to scrap but that was in my driveway cause you go up from the gutter to a footpath and then down a bit on the other side of it so it just bellied out on my first attempt but got it figured now so all good

Yeah no worries mate no rush.........let us know when you can :)
so the front spring numbers are 2275L and 2275R and the rears are 2641.

Hey Wombie, mine are SL now. Nice height. But rough over potholes and bumps. I put polyair bags in the rear and improved ride heaps. Need to replace all shocks with good quality ones to improve ride I have been told. Front hits hard on some surfaces.
Another nice looking VY SS on the road....

so i relocated the pcm today. poked along and took a few hours (on and off talking shit with mate)
looks alot neater now. will post up some pics tomorrow when i clean it all up cause its pretty grotty in the engine bay currently.
so the majority of my pics buggered up so i only have a couple of the bay.
this is it all pulled out before the coolant sensor, horn and traction control wires were extended
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l109/david_tomek/mechanicals/IMG_6205.jpg
this is the wires extended but the plugs not replaced yet and the loom pulled into place, this way we get the exact length needed.

Dave you need one of ase's coolant relocating tanks, that will really clean the bay up.
Looking good though.
