Has anyone used carbon ceramic brake pads? any feed back?
I can get them for the front of mine for a reasonable extra over the Bendix greens (I think)
I have been advised that if I use carbon ceramic pads I need to get the rotors linished (lightly machined) to then use normal pada again.
based on that I was concerned about the removal of the brake dust...

After 2 sets of ultimates that were kindly thrown down the street with most haste, i tried a set of the ceramic pads on my vy ss. dust.....what dust they are great for that indeed and with slotted rotors i find them quite a good pad, considering the cost anyway :)

:hmmm: No dust ... I like the sound of that.
Are there any downsides, do they stop the car just as well, are they noisy ??? What do they cost ???
Anyone ... anyone ...

i think the cost was 65 a set and i run on the front and rear of the ss, downsides..... the work well on the street and strip but i dont think id use them on a track, theres dedicated pads for that, and i havent had any issues with noise, which is a bonus:) . and according to the box u dont need to bed them in:confused:

my bad, im running the ceramic , with titanium strips, whatever that means exactly:eyes:
I am running EBC RedStuff pads, which say "ceramic" on the packaging. They seem ok thus far on the street, but the real test is on monday.

There are different brands of ceramic pads. You can buy a protex street ceramic pad for $50 and a SBS brand ceramic from $240.
The brand i think you may be talking about is the SBS Carbon Ceramic pad and they are a more than effective pad for stopping power for road or track but on the road if not bedded in properley can be as noisy as endless etc but as a track pad the Dual Carbon is better for full race. You may need to use the SBS Ceramic pad should it be for road use and a club day as these are less likely to be noisy.
You should machine any rotor before fitting new pads so the surface is flat and free from any deposits left from previous pads and it will make the bedding in process better as well.
