A week ago I did Stage 2 (Advanced Car Control) with Ian Luff at the Oran Park Skid Pan. Its about the 4th time I've done it. Its heaps of fun!! This was the first time I'd done it in the VX.
So here are the in-car videos. I have a big spin at about 90Km/h in one  and I do a few laps of The Big Circle sideways in a nice drift in the other. :D
Enjoy...

Awesome. looks like heaps of fun. Informative too. Hell of allot more controlled that the crazy motorkhana courses we do up here.
There is no control or keep it smooth just hang on and hope.
Good work on the learning to drift too. I am not sure I would have the patience to one of them though. I would want to go all out and learn from mistakes.
Did you have the RE55s on with all that wet weather work or did you put some stockers on.

Just a quick observation from watching the vids Aeron. Your understeer suggests to me that you've got it set too hard in the front and/or it is too low and is running out of suspension travel onto the bump-stops. And the back is maybe too soft and is getting roll-oversteer hence the sudden change to oversteer.. Also maybe ditto re the rear ride height. A firmer rear bar might make it more progressive.

Just for the record, I didn't have the RE55's on. There was no way I was going to burn those babies up on the skidpan. :D :D I had cheap’o Silverstones on the front and Falkens on the back.

There’s no 2 ways about it, its set up too stiff for a wet skidpan. Its really built for the track. There is no way it was running out of suspension travel. Not with those springs+shocks+ride height. Ever seen a Porsche GT3 in the Dutton in the low speed Motorkhana events? They are hopeless. Way too stiff. But get them out on the hi-speed stuff and they are fantastic. That’s where the Commodore will be more at home.
But im not sure what understeer you are talking about (obviously not the bit where he’s telling me to make the car understeer on purpose). A lot of the time the tyres were screaming with protest (because they do that on concrete for some reason) but not actually slipping.
You have to remember, the concrete is very slippery, wether it is wet or dry, and any reaction the car has is 10x worse than on a tar surface.
The only time I found myself in trouble was when I wasn’t smooth enough. In the last cloverleaf run, where I came into the first “hat” and the back end stepped out under brakes, that was because I was too aggressive on the brakes when turning in. Ooops! I’ll put my hand up for that one. Also in the Emergency Lane Change @ 95Km/h I was to aggressive on the wheel and the throttle at the same time. I thought I’d give it go……………… and it didn’t work. But it was fun trying :D

Good vids, looks like not only a lot of fun but something you would learn a lot from as well. Im doing a skid day at Oran park early next month.

You'll love it mate. It’s a great way to learn how to slide your car in a safe environment. And if you stuff up, like I did, you have nothing to hit but a few hats. :D
Its great!!
