Howdy.

Looks like I'm another one who got the email.

The vh doesn't see the more traditional race tracks, but has done all its racing on a disused airstrip in motorkhanas. Well, 2 motorkhanas and I'm hooked.

I'm trying to convince my team mate to change out plans from converting the car to speedway to doing motorkhanas instead. At this stage, it looks cheaper to do, as there isn't all the strict safety requirements. The worst we can do is roll it, or put it into a tree on the side of the airstrip. Mind you, we do run with a harness in the car in an attempt to keep us in the seat (and put mum's mind at ease)

It also looks like more fun. While speedway looks like fun, motorkhana has the sliding and sideways action, but also has more technical car control in different directions, and doesn't have the constant replacing of panels.

Hopefully a new section can be added ;)

Hi Adam,

That old VH has certainly had a colourful life (actually, VERY colourful at one stage).

:gotpics:

We want to see some video and photos of the various stages of this beasts illustrious career so far.

Stick them in the media gallery.

Welcome to trackchat mate.

Cheers,

Scott

i'll put some up next week when i'm back in darwin. in melbourne this weekend. i have a video i edited together of the last motorkhana, but it isnt online yet.

i probably should also add that i'm an apprentice motorsport chaplain in darwin, i'm working with phil zamagias who actually has some experience with it. at this stage, i do the drags (when i don't have other church stuff) and did the v8supercars weekend. my way of being involved in motorsport when i can't actually race.

Welcome Adam... how do I say this..."there goes the neighbourhood":)

Kidding of course.:stick:

Some info on the motorkhana stuff would be great. A motorkhana day looks like great fun from what I've seen and could be a potential Trackchat event. I believe Wakefiled conduct them and your car doesn't need any special parts to partake (I think).

Good stuff vh-holden. I have done a Motorkhana and a Hill Climb are they are very addictive and lots of fun.

Tiger SS - Wakefield do Hill Climbs which are good fun too, but don't think they do Motorkhana's. Motorkhana's are good as they only need a big carpark to have one.
