Hi all,
I was just wondering if someone could clarrify whether the LS2 sump is the same as the L76??
I have been told to try and get the L76 sump as it is better for circuit racing but have found an LS2 sump and was hoping they were the same.
If anyone could let me know that would be great.
Thanks Dave
Not sure of LS2 vs L76, but VZ sumps in general have different windage tray / baffling. Have you any pics of this LS2 sump, i could tell straight away.
FWIW Erik and I have found the VZ sump quite good; but we still get oil surge on the circuit with the VZ. Certainly not a silver bullet but it is is "manageable". Put it this way: a VZ sump is about as good as an LS1 sump with increased volume (welded on wings) even with a gated windage tray. So not bad for a simple bolt on option.

I dont have any photos but I know its off a HSV LS2, for $350 it may be good enough to use and I'll see what kind of baffling I can get in the standard sump with extra wings etc.
Thanks

I was going to get one of these if I had oil surge issues. I have not for some reason so never bothered. I believe you bolt the baffles in. Apparently they are ok to a degree over the stock and help with general circuit racing with semi slicks. As normal hard to find information on things like this. If it works could be an option. Maybe someone with oil issues grab one and do some testing. Monitoring would be important in case they are no good.

On my car, I presume the VX GTS sumps are the same as the stock ones as I thought this would be a major problem. I do overfill the sump for each meeting too
Listy, link doesnt seem to be working

THis is the main page so should be ok. Go to the oil section. There is not any pictures but when I called the bloke he said they had had good results. Again I was going to get it to test as it was way cheeper than a baffled sump or a new sump. You would need to have live monitering to do testing of your own.
There is some pretty handy gear on that page and prices not too bad and some items are actually a good price compared to the aussie dollar now.
