As the title states the wagon is going in to Power Torque for an up grade to Maffless!:flame:
Chipmaster in Perth has sent a "blank" computer over to exchange with the one that is in the wagon at the moment that Daniel loaded a maf tune into about a year ago.
Im off to power torque at 10am tomorrow and am keen as mustard to feel the results.
especially interesting will be some before and after comparos as they say that their dyno generally reads a bit lower than alot of others so it might show a bit less than the 226.7rwkw that the chipmaster dyno showed after they tuned it. I am not worried about that though I am just keen to see the before and after on the same dyne and see the gains there.
I have done nearly 500km since power Torque fitted the 3.9 gears, h/duty clutch and UDP and I have been very disciplined and not floored it once, giving the gears and clutch the best chance to bed in so I cant wait till tomorrow afternoons drive home:eyes: Ill have more power and better gearing and it'll all be bedded in ready for a bit of a workout!:whip:

I'm sure you'll love it!
What sort of induction system are you using to complement the mafless tune?
ditto, best to have an OTR if you are going to the trouble of getting mafless,
Are you getting an intake too

I am upgrading to a four inch maf pipe from the VY II 285kw clubby one I have at the moment. I will get an OTR but cant justify the extra $600 for the orsom one which is the only one I would buy because of its "factory" style looks. The last thing I want is for my car to look like a race car. I much prefer the subtle look. Ill probably go for the orsome when I get the heads and cam done next year

dont get too worried about dyno figure, my mafless tune was 210rwkw, still run a sub 13 with stock 3.07s and converter. now i have 255rwkw and am awaiting 1 cold night with a wee bit of track prep for the 12.4/3, if no one has bought the ss by then.
Should be great man!!
Look forward to the results

What a differance a tune makes! I swear the upgrade from the maf tune to the maffless tune is as good as when I first got the maf tune done compared to standard.
I dont have a scanner so I cant scan the dyno sheet into the computer so youll all have to take my word for it but the final figures were as follows.
Before: Max Torque - 469.4 FtLb @ 132 kph, 229.7 kw @ 148 kph Motive force 1319 Lb @132 kph
After: Max Torque - 482.2 FtLb @ 116 kph, 237.3 kw @ 154 kph, Motive force 1355 Lb @ 116kph
It was a stinker of a Brissy day (31 to 32 degrees and humid) so the PT guys said that on a cooler day it would have more than likley seen over the 240 rwkw mark. I believe these figures on their dyno are pretty good.
The thing I noticed most is that the max torque now cuts in at 116 kph and the peah kw is right out at 154 kph so the power spread starts far earlier and holds on much longer:cool:
with the old tune the power was was all over by 150kph and dropped off dramaticly but the new power curve is fat as right up to 175kph:eyes: :woot:
So whats it feel like?
Bloody great! The car feels so much gruntier and lighter its unreal!
It even sounds meaner with the maf gone and the 4 inch tb pipe it has a meatier induction roar and the exhaust seems to rumble, pop, and crackle more on the over run. SWEER!
Let the testing begin!:whip: :yep:

Greats results there. All thats needed now is an otr and a bump stick to get things really moving along.

besides the power, a cam changes the exhaust note.... in my application, take off the rear res and its a tough sounding v8 indeed. When test driving the ve , the wife said "can we rip of the exhaust to make it sound like our vy  , needles to say the salesman was quiet shocked:) "
