I dropped the rear mufflers of the car today :)

I just unbolted them to see what its like for a quick WOT and cruise...

Sounds heaps better, burbles and craks when you back off, sounds good under WOT... Still, its not loud, not like my VY was...

The muffleers are MASSIVE!!! There's two massive holes under the car where they fit, and im sure it drops a couple of kilos, probably about 6Kg or so

Time to book it in to have the cut and replaced with straight threw pipes :)

I dont have a sound recorder that will do it justice atm

Nice work ... got any pics ???

I'll have to have listen at the drag day in January, at this stage I'm thinking I'll go with a Di Fillipo system through Sonny for the GTS.

If i am able to go the TT Route, i will want to keep the stock exhuast and put the mufflers back on... Dunno...

the turbos act as a muffler. It'll be quieter with the TT kit than it is now. Also, with turbo's you want the least back pressure possible from the exhaust system.

Never really liked the "snap, crackle and pop" effect...sounds too harsh and not tough enough IMO...but to each their own. :) Still an awesome car you have there....very jealous. :)

Any noticeable difference to performance, either way?

Cheers,

I was a bit dissapointed when it snap crackled and poped, but its not to harsh, and only at high rev's...

Power, no, dont think so, some people say you loose a bit...

I reakon those bad boys (massive ass mufflers) are about 8Kg each, so 16kg is gone, now if i loose 16Kg, take out hte spare wheel the car will be like 50Kg lighter :)

I am interested in wait reduction that dosnt envolve working out and eating less... i wonder what we can strip out of it

I reckon there has to be a saving by swapping for lighter wheels - when and if they become available. Will be pricey though.
