Recalling a conversation that was had at the last meet i was wondering if anyone was intrested in having a bit of a social game/comp.

We could get together, cruise out to somewhere nice like Windsor play some golf then retire to the clubhouse for an ale or two.

Thoughts please

Dan

I haven't played for over 4 years but once upon a time I could hit the ball quite well ... count me in, I'll just need a week or 2 to get all the cobwebs off my clubs !!!

Weekday suits me better too ... can almost guarantee I wouldn't be able to make a weekend.

Dependant on date and location, I don't see why not. Like Nick, I used to be half decent back in the day so it would be good to get out and have a round.

Sooooo...... whats on offer for the winner? :news:

Weekday suits me also! Maybe i can make some cash detailing clubs for guys that havnt played for a while lol

My clubs that are painted all have been polished and then covered in 3 layers of Z2 Pro, i tell myself it reduces wind resistance lol

Ok for the Prize... I have no idea hahaha Bragging rights? We will work something out im sure

Forgot to mention im also not walking 18 holes and i want to do burnouts in the carts (it can be done if you know how) so no walking

If this is a goer, may I suggest an ambrose type format. We can draw for partners. Rules similar to the Holden scramble format, (Mandatory take three drives from each player)

Reasons for ambrose.....

1. It will encourage more 'occasional' golfers.

2. Its fun.

3. Its quicker (quicker to the bar)

4. Promotes teamwork.

5. Its not so serious.

Excellent idea mate ... last time I played was a 4 ball ambrose comp. Had a heap of fun as the bad shots don't really matter as much.

Probably won't have the numbers for a 4 ball comp, unless we get 8 ... even then a 2 ball comp would probably be better. If we team up regular golfers with occasional hacks it should work pretty well.

Agreed the ambrose would be best. Hopefully we will get 6 or 8 just to make it a bit more sociable and easier with the buggies

Petes Ridge is an awesome course also if people dont mind a bit of a drive!

Im up for it for sure, doesnt matter when, my vote is for Camden Lakeside or Mt Broughton.

Absolutely. Great Course!!! Lads could combine the day with a Mini cruise up the old Pacific Hwy all the way from Berowra to Peats Ridge.

Although I am a bit bias because I live up this way.

PS...Its called "The Springs."

Sounds like fun... BUT...

I have never hit a golf ball in my life, don't have any clubs and probably couldn't play good enough to keep up with you boys, even if my life depended on it. :lmao: :hide:

P.S Happy to come for the drive/cruise and give moral support / Drive one of the buggies:driving: / Drinks boy.

Thats the good thing about ambrose, doesnt matter if you are the worst player, you still have a good chance of wining. Everyone hits their ball then you play from the best shot.

i think we need to get sonny, castle hill exhaust boys, russo and any other shop boys along and some of the other well known people from ls1.com.au and other sites try for 30 TO 50 or so players and make it yearly pay $10 extra PER PLAYER and get some sponsor help and give any profit to a charity related to motorsport or road accidents ????

Hehe... I have a gut feeling things would get a little too competetive with all the workshop owners playing against each other :chuckle:

And The Springs golf course would be fine by me.

id be up for it aswell depending on the date. will have to go find my sand wedge and lob wedge though as they arent needed out here on the sand greens.

if you wanted to include a cruise aswel maybe even move the game out to somewhere in the mountains, maybe blackheath, leura, springwood. or if you wanted to make it a full day trip lithgow, mudgee or bathurst. from what i remember richmond has a very nice course and leonay was also very nice

I'll be in too. Haven't played for 18 months or so, so it should be interesting. Springs works good for me too. It's got as much bounce as the Wacca.

By chance I chatted with one of the fellas that plays up at The springs two days ago.

He said they are still offering $28 for 18 holes including carts. (That may be midweek...I may have to check)

Its a brilliant course that has just been bought by a multi millionaire gold miner. He is throwing heaps of $$$$ at the course.

Old Pac Hwy is also a bonus.

Dead-set bargain ... weekday is still best for me ... let's do it.

Give me a date that suits you and (hopefully) I'm in, if any of these other slackers can make it they can come along too !!!

Daz... your problem seems to be that you don't know golf etiquette well enough. If your playing badly, the correct thing to do is increase the beer consumption. If you hit the right balance, you wont care if you're playing badly :yep:

And by consuming more beer it helps create the illusion that i'm going ok by actually hitting the ball in the first place hmmmmm..........you are wise beyond your years Tom that's for sure and certain :chuckle:
