Well thought id take a couple of pics to put up. The car wasparked in the drive and i thought "hmmm the bike would look good next to that" so i roll the bike down next to the car. Go inside for the camera and when i came out it took me a couple of seconds to click what was going on....
My bike had rolled off the stand and smashed into the concrete:cry:
So here is the car anyway (waiting for its baby brother to be born, currently being built:woohoo: )

The left handle bar has snapped clean off, indicator and mirror broken. They're an easy fix i guess, but the fairing is fairly badly scracthed up which is probbaly going to be the worst to fix.
Oh well as they say Shit happens:sigh:

Been there Barney ... nothing like basking in ones own magnificence. :(
Some years back I'd just finishing washing my VQ Stato and thought I'd grab my nicely restored XJ900 and take some pics of the 2 together.
Sadly it obviously eluded me that apparently when you wash the car on the lawn the dirt gets quite soft once it's wet doesn't it !!!
Put the side stand down, turned to grab the camera and as I did it ... the obvious fairy paid me a visit.
Spun on the heal ... just in time to see the lovely XJ fall (sidestand sunk into the soil) onto the drivers side door of the Stato.
Yahoo !!! 2 for one deal ... DUMBASS !!! :headbang:

Thanks for your responses,
I have got the new parts, about $350 worth, which is ok. Most of the parts are a simple fit, but the clip on handle bar looks like a bit of messing around. Oh well nice change from the office:sleep:
And my friend at the Holden Dealer can arrange for the fairing to be fixed for next to nothing:cheers:
I might be be back on for a ride by Sunday:yahoo: Yeh yeh i should be catching up on work, but oh well.
Nice difference on this forum is no one bags your purchase:smiles:
I didnt buy it because it was the best that could be bought, i bought it because it was a cheap fun way to refamilarise myself with a bike on a bike that didnt remind me of a postie bike.

Makes sense to me ... not point killing yourself on a weapon you don't yet have the skills to handle.
Besides ... I'll admit I know jack shit about bikes, but it looks pretty damn sweet to me ...

Barney,i raced dirt bikes for 25 years , have ridden or been sponsored by most of the brands,as such have had quite a few road bikes along the way, even a few vintage bikes that i rebuilt, but i would never question what you bought, its your money and your decision, good luck with it.
It takes a bit of getting used to on the smaller forums, but that is what makes them good.
Cheers
