hi all, we just finished our most epic video yet..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUnATHMft7o&fmt=18
We're aiming to get a car related show up on Foxtel and they are keen but want to see regular views first. We're over 250,000 downloads now from youtube and itunes and we've really pulled our finger out with the amount of content and production we've put into it.
Hope you enjoy! Love to hear comments as always...
Awesome as always mate. :)
I'm gonna get one of your t-shirts too...just not sure on size. Might pop into an AA store over here and try one on to see what the fit's like. :)
Cheers!
Here is my review :D
Slick intro and chapter graphics.
Sounds and sound effects are very good.
Editing is also slick.
Camera work....something is not right there in my mind, im not 100% sure what, personaly I dont like shots that fill up my screen/TV with some dudes face LOL But apart from that comment, camera work is great.
Humour, great.
The only other negative thing ill say is when the rear tail lights were pulled out and didnt come out, that looks amaturish and well...poo.
Maybe he was being funny...he made light of it but if it was ready to slide straight out then it would have looked slick.
I watched the episode as if it was on Foxtel and the above is what stood out that said it was not.
Overall, frigging great guys, hope to see you on Foxtel ASAP.
Good stuff,
Troy :)

Hi Troy,
Thanks for the feedback! Very constructive...
i should explain the box bit (and trainspotters will see a few more events in there...)
earlier in the day we were talking about how there are a whole bunch of people on the net who will make videos of them unwrapping, well, stuff... some people just really really like unwrapping things and watching other people unwrapping things
maybe some kind of weird christmas throwback fetish thing, i have NO idea..
so the lights not coming out of the box stayed in the final cut cause it was kinda of premature... err... unboxulation.... cause it didn't work "Oh the letdown!!"
but yeah i see your point, we try to keep it pretty light hearted..
and as far as the closeups of our faces? Too bad :D
glad you liked the vid, there are a ton more on there!
Febs!!: Medium is the way to go mate! they are at cost price so buy away all the money goes into making them (Actually i think we make about 7c per shirt, ooooh yeah my retirement fund is looking good)
large is american large (read: huge)

Well done guys, I have no creative ability whatsoever so I can't really give you any suggestions ... but I liked it.
I hope you get picked up 'cause I gotta say, you're more entertaining than pretty much every other Aussie car show ever attempted.
Love your work ...

The sublime message I got from the box bit was..." those lights looked packed well...doesnt look like they will get damaged in transit..maybe I would consider doing the tail lights..." (which I never would actually)
I reckon the show looks great. I think for it to succeed in the big time you need some more character development so people get more into the people than just the tutorials.

Bloody good effort Smidge and co ... entertaining much.
When the LS1 based series start. :D
Only comment I'd have is ... go easier with the hand movement/gestures. It looks like you're an Italian Market gardner at Paddy's Markets occassionally.
(No racial slight intended)
seemed good to me. not in to the 4cyl turbos and the like but i would still watch it on foxtel/austar. great to see an aussie car modifying tv show doing mods people would do.
next serise you could do a vt-vy ls1 and mod it up and take it drag racing. following serise maybe a wrx or skyline or evo and take it circut or drift racing.
if you done this after each mod you could accuratly gauge the improvments of each mod.
possibly do a in depth full audio visual install compleatly carried out at home. maybe even a show on how to turn your daily driver into a show car at home, for example what things judges look at and little custom touches you can do at home.
some construcive critisum from me would be work on the filming techneques, shakey pictures are not what you would expect from a mainstream tv show which is what i am guessing you are aiming at.
also personal presentation, clean shaven, dressed in maybe a polo shirt with the shows logo on it and your name and if you can swing it some sponsours kinda like a race team shirt and a pair of black shorts (they go with almost anything) and shoes....definetly not pluggers.
thats about it from me, hope it all comes together for ya.

Great work Smidge and Crew!
Very nice work with the camera, context and the modifications. I do hope that this does end up on the TV here in the States. It seems far more entertaining than the existing automotive programs that we have here. I look forward to checking out the rest of your shows.
Overall I would give it 2  up Mate!!
Cheers,
Steve

Here's an idea Smidge:
There's a VX LS1 Calais sitting in a garage just a few minutes from your place at the moment (parents are looking after it while I'm in the US).
Ask 'em for the keys and go nuts.
Seriously though, it's available if you ever want to do something interesting and not-too-destructive on it. :D
Cheers,
- Martin.
