Yokohama AO48

has anyone here bought Yokohama AO48's for racing recently? Can you tell me how much you paid (PM is ok).

I have two prices - both are meant to be off the 'special' Improved Production price list, but they are nearly $50/tyre different! (Vic vs Qld)

The size I am after is 235/45R17.

The Yokohama dealer network has changed, so people are trying to find their feet - but i need tyres within a couple of weeks and i don't have a lot of time to mess around.

those are the control tyre for Improved Production in every state.

IPRA have literally just signed an extended deal with Yoko for 3 more years with the A048's.

There is ONLY 1 place you can buy them in each state.... if you buy them anywhere else, they are simply getting them from that 1 place, putting $50/tyre on it and selling them to you - don't fall for that one.

ALSO - as part of the negotiation, IPRA have managed to get many sizes CHEAPER than previous year - which is suprising but great!

Which State are you trying to source them from?? Ill post you the correct place to call.....

i am trying to go thru the right channels

i spoke to the guys in melbourne. they quoted me the IP price and gave me the qld distributor's contact who is now responsible for northern territory. unfortunately the QLD dealer hasn't got freight organised thru yokohama yet and his price was $50/tyre dearer to start with!

i'm starting to get a bit 'toey' with no tyres sorted and less than 3 weeks to the next race meeting and easter in between...

the qld motorsport distributor and yokohama have set up a supply arrangement for NT thru the local Tyrepower outlet in Stuart Park.

they were very good to deal with.
