I ran a new PB of 12.7 @ 112mph last night. I ran on my street tyres and all I did was drop the tyre pressure and remove the filter.

I want to run a street tyre 12.5 or below, then I will buy some Drag Radials and have a crack at 11's.

Mate that's a decent time on 19's so well done  Is the diff ratio 3.7's from factory in those things?

Btw she's a nice ride and i look forward to seeing it at the pd.I also wouldn't mind a listen to Sureflo system whilst there......what noise level is it?

Steve from Oztrack touched up my tune today, as I have added high flow cats and changed the 3.5 single to dual 2.5.

The result was 294.4rwkw! Not bad for a 'little' cam daily driver The first run today it made 285rwkw so I gained about 9rwkw.

Here's the sheet from today. When I was there they overlayed this sheet onto the one where it made 288rwkw at the dyno day. The line for the new tune sat about a cm above the old one, with gains made right through the revrange.

This sheet is 294.4rwkw or 394rwhp

I am saving for some ET Streets than I will take it back to the track.

Nice work, you can definately get some good numbers out of small cams. :)

Any more mods planned for the near future? I'm sure you would like to see 300rwkw, well atleast I would... ;)

I think I will fit some 243 cast heads, that should get it over the 300rwkw mark.

But I want to get some ET Streets first.

Sounds like a good plan, I know that they make a bit of difference over the standard 241 heads. Would you get them ported before putting them on or just leave them stock?

With some decent tyres you should be in the 11's or damn close as I ran 11.8@116mph with 280rwkw when I was running cam only with my 224/232 blower cam.

I had one of Dus's ported throttle bodies fitted last weekend. It's definately made the car more responsive. Well worth the money.

Well I had a top Christmas with the family! And I also got a pair of ET Streets (off Wombie) and a Ripshift as well! Can't wait to fit it all up and hit the track again! They should help my times drop a bit

For anyone looking at doing the same thing with 16 inch rims. Below are some pics with 3mm spacers. I get 6 turns of the nut with my street rims, and with the 16's and spacers I get just over 4 and a half. The pics show how much hub is left, as well as how far the nut goes down on the thread. Looks like there is plenty of hub for the rim, and enough thread going into the nut. They now clear the bolt by 2mm. I have been for a drive and had no issues.

Now to hit the track!!

longer studs arent expensive or hard so that might be an option for saftey sake aswell, i dont think you will have an issue anyway seeing as its only for limited use on the strip.

Ran a new PB of 12.6@114mph last week. Still launcing like a girl, with a 1.9 sec 60 footer. I am looking forward to the private day, I will have a spare driveshaft or 2 so I will have a good go at dropping my 60ft time.

Here's a video of my pb run. Any tips are appreciated.

I ran a 12.5@115 with an almost identical setup (Bigger cam but 3.4 diffgears and no ripshift)

Well after only getting a dissapointing 6 runs in a the TrackChat private day, due to a water leak, I went out to WSID tonight.

I managed a new PB of 12.21@114mph! :)

Thanks mate. The only tip I can give is BIG smokey burnouts! The last 2 runs that night I didn't stop until there was smoke in the cabin, and both 60ft times were high 1.7s

A couple of changes lately. I got rid of the xforce exhaust and got a Liverpool Exhaust custom dual 2.5. It craps all overt the xforce. It's not as loud and has a nice deep tone to it, with none of the xforce pop and cackle.

Also I was thinking of getting new rims, and needed 2 new rear tyres anyway. I picked up some mint condition genuine VY HSV rims for less than 2 new rear tyres! Look pretty good too

Hi VY.

Im interested in your exhaust journey. Originally you had a 3.5, then an x force, now a custom dual 2.5.

Why did you switch from the 3.5 to the x force? Where there any improvements in performance/sound/timeslip? You are obviously happy with the 2.5 dual. How did this compare to the 3.5?

There is a brilliant post somewhere where Markone2 compares the exhausts back to back and the dual 2.5 came out on top. Does your experience support this?

Found it.....http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=57783&highlight=sureflo

Cheers

Thanks guys.

Sled, I am not a consistant enough driver, like M12, so I can't really talk gains at the track. But I remember when I went from my VYII HSV dual 2.5 to the single 3.5 it didn't feel as responsive, but I loved the sound. But it was always in the back of my mind that it may be costing me some grunt and the responsiveness, so I went back to a dual 2.5. The XForce was too loud, so I got the current system on.

A bit more work has been done. I have had heads fitted. They are: Hand ported, larger stainless valves with 5 angle valve job, shaved 30 thou, fitted with Patriot Extreme Springs. A few pics of the work getting done on the heads in the U.S and the result below.
