Salutations,

The goon has been looking a little on the weary side of late so I figured twas time to engage in some freckle dislodgement and give it a tart up it so desperately deserved.

But ... where to start?

Ask DAN THE MAN!!! To say these were phone calls well made would be an understatement.

The request I made was "What gear would you recommend for a balding fatass who's time poor and can't afford a proper detail?"

Several PMs later ... we came up with a recipe of DURAGLOSS gear that I can honestly say I'm friggen stoked with.

After washing with CT18 truck wash to remove any other "Stuff" on the paint & drying with the tickety boo microfibre.

DODO clay bar with mint lube.
Duragloss swirl remover.
Duragloss 111 clear coat polish.
Duragloss fast clean and shine
Some PROPER cleaning cloths.
Elbow grease.
303 to all the textured plastic bits

All up took me about 3.5hrs and the results whilst not perfect are sensational for a 7 year old car with a pre-owner history of neglect.

Enough of my shit though ... as they say ... a pic (or several) is worth a thousand words.

Nice work man :).

Pardon my ignorance, but what does a clay bar do?

I've personally used clay bar to remove reasonably fresh paint 'drips' from cars adjacent to a building that was being painted. Also handy for lifting dirt and grime out of paint. That sort of thing.

Great result on the goon mate, came up a treat!

After washing your car to get rid of the bulk of the shit you accumulate with day to day driving, you then use the clay bar to remove the fine contaminents to smooth out your cars paint :)

Basically as Daz said mate ... run over your "clean" car with a claybar and lube & you'll be amazed how much more crap comes off.

You'll need to wax or polish afterwards though as it'll also remove most of the protective sealant as well but the finish is smoooooooooooooooooooooth.

This depends on so much mate. How much do you want to spend, how much time do you have, are you chasing flawless paint or just a shine, do you want the besst looks or the best protection or both. Best follow Daves advice and PM me with exactly what you want to do
