Well the TuRD is now a bastard ass TuRD..
Got home today, opened the door about 10 cm's if that and the door got collected by some fuckwit driving to close to parked cars obviously...
The door ended up flat against the front quarter..... Couldnt close it even after bending it back.... so needless to say, Ive had the car under 5 months, about a month ago it was keyed down to bare metal from the tail light to the begining of the rear passengers door, and now its got a fucked door, fucked quarter panel, and being only 5 months old, im now thinking fix it and fuck it off...
Im lucky i was watching the mirror and when i saw this fuckwit too close i freaked and looked out the gap of the door to see afront bar coming for me, so i let go and lucky for me, my arm is still in 1 piece....
Just over it, Every car i have had, excludung beat up dungers has always been cleaned up in some way whilst parked.....
I think its time to get a Datto 200b and just drive that from now on.......
Looks like the track car wont happen now...
Im seething inside but outside i look devo... its just another little part of me that has died insdie...
I always told Nic, when you drive if something happens dont worry, its insured etc etc, but thats not helping me at the moment.... I suppose one of the down sides of being a motor enthusiast means that when ur pride and joy is fucked up by some cock that doesnt care you just lose all faith....
Oh well TR Flannagan are gonna have their work cutout for them............
ANyways, im thinking now get it fixed and sell it off.....
Its a real shame too, as it was an awesome car to drive and it was very very unique......
that really does suck, sorry to hear.

Bugger dude.
Flanagans do good work, the repair side of things should be fine but there will always be idiots out there who don't care about other peoples property.

Your car gets damaged so you sell it ?
No offence mate, but that's a bit of an over reaction. In the first 12 months of owning our GTS it was side swiped and then hammered by hail on every single panel. Almost 3 years and 60,000 kms later we still own it and we still love it ... and to be honest, it's in better condition than it was when we picked it up !!!
Sorry to hear it got damaged mate, but shit happens. It's just a car, it's insured, get it fixed and keep on enjoying it.
Hope it's back on the road soon.

Bugger that, done sell it if you like it. I was in very similar thoughts due to the crashes that occured in the Avalance. If Idid not like the car so much I may have but I liked it and frankly there is no other car that does the same job. The avalance is a unique vehicle as is your TRD. There is nothng on the market like them.\
I went and fixed the avalance after the policeman ran into me and then got some stone chips from trucks and then I got run off the road by a truck. I put it down to the car color and not the car so I changed a few things and so far so good.
I say fix it. If you like it that much things will hopefully turn around. (BTW a cheap shitter and circuit car the old Z31 300ZX do ok. i.e. second car)

Hell I drove shitters for years and years until I was in a position to buy the sv8 and i'm never ever gunna sell it as I love driving the damn thing way too much! I've copped a few scrapes, scratches, dings and stone chips but you know what I just don't let it get to me too much and press on ;)
I do understand where your coming from though but in time you'll settle down and realise there are other options.Ffs you should see the Possum's 07 Suzuki Swift :yike: chundered from thoughtless carpark pricks but at the end the day she loves driving it so we fix it and move forward :)
All the best mate!

lets just say i was a bit emotional last night..
Nick i hear ya mate... its just depressing, but in saying that everytime i have a nice car, it always gets taken out... and seriously to hit a parked fucking car u must be mental!!
Anyways, i left a message for Terry to call me, and ill get it fixed and then when i do, i think its time a for a long drive with the sunroof open... just me and the road, and i hope the love comes back....
Had to go to wollongong today, and we took Nic's Echo, me being the fat bastard i am, thought it would be a pig but it was a good run, and a great car on the highway, even though she drives like a nanna..... It was at this point i realised i would do the open road trick and see if it works...
Nic's Echo has been thru hell from being hit and shit, and well lets just say she still loves it, so in my eyes if a non enthusiast can do, surely i can...
Thanks for your thoughts guys, they are appreciated..... The TuRD will live to fight another day.......
P.s. Can a founding member please change my quip to Busted Arse TuRD for a while.....

Whilst I do enjoy driving the Possum's Swift occasionally I just love getting out on the open road in the sv8 and the trip to Peats Ridge and back for a wedding yesterday was just wicked :D
Very good to hear you've had a change of heart mate :hat:

IM FUCKING STOKED!!!!
They have started working on my car!! The assesor saw where my car was keyed and told them to repair that as wel!!! FUCKING A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And not at fault, they deemed it "Too Hard" so i pay my excess but lose nothing!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was driving the companies VW Caddy TDI - Animal, but the new document runner wrote it off after being clipped at 70 km/h (someone ran a red)
Then i got the company Nissan Maxima, and thought i should have a bowls hat on and walking cane... however it went well..
Now im driving the Mrs Ferrari..... god i love that car!!!

Just got off the phone with Terry and im pretty happy!!!!!!
Car will be ready early next week!!!!
About 3 months ago it was keyed down the passengers side... he is gonna touch that up for me too!!!
They have had to replace the door, front quarter, hinges, and a minor repair to the pillar where it ripped it... Makes ya feel crook in the guts to know what terrible pain the TuRD was in....
Panels are on and body work done, its just waiting for the booth and a bake and its all mine again....
Re: the key job, $50 and a bottle of wine and he said we will be good... Because im a local.... Again it is bringing my faith back to dealing with your local guys.... Awesome!!!!!!!!

i should clarify with the key mark, im paying the extra for him to take the panels off and do the job well, as opposed to a light fill and blob of paint....

I think you will be very happy with the outcome, Terry runs a very professional shop.
He is a very smart man that founded the Autoquote system that most panel shops in Australia and around the world use.

OK, i have the TuRD back.... however its unfinished :(
They put the decal on the drivers door upside down, so have to order a new one, so the car is going back to TR Flanagan on Monday.. They also need to do a small touch up on the keymark they fixed and detail the beast...
HOWEVER.....
Im bloody stoked to have it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ummmm, can i have a new quip again guys??? Wouldn't mind my HAT back however i can handle being a New, Improved and Shiny TuRD :)

lol Dan, i have no idea.... the other thing too i have learnt to appreciate it, its a pretty rare car mate, and not having seen one, you wouldn't really know.. unless you took initiative to look at the other door!!
However im starting to like th elook of the decal less door, it means i can put some nicer looking badges there instead, coz lets face it, a dodge 3500S on the doors doesnt mean much...
Ask Bomi, he prolly walked straight past my car today and didnt realise what it was....
