Going by the pics it looks a bit weird. Rear bar looks like an aftermarket one, front end looks like a mix between a pulsar, new evo lancer and a Audi. Hopefully it looks a bit better up close.

Not a fan ... :sulk:
If that's what the new GTS looks like I won't be getting one. Too over done, to many "bits" ... looks like a 90's CSV.
Hopefully the Senator / Grange will be more tasteful.

Hard to gauge from that pic but first thought is ... FPV Clubsport?
People said the VE looked funky until they sawe one in the flesh ... hope it's the case with these.
Not a fan, looks a little "busy" and overdone. Then again i didnt like series 1 either when they first came out (but i do now).

Now as a sponsor on the AFF (looking daily) I have to admit, I saw a hint of FPV in there as well??

Looks a little strange the front. Reminds me of an oversized EVO front end.
looks like 3 cars rolled into 1 a subaru evo and fpv .evo front end fpv rear bar and exhaust tips.subaru flutes cut into the raer bar.it looks ok but not my cup of tea.

Apparently these are the facelifted 911 pics

I see similar themes, with the front LED's and the rear bar!
maybe all these guys go to the same design school

Maybe Holden will hand out cue tips with each sale so that buyers can stab their stupid brains to ease the pain of the appearence?
There are some "spy" pics on LS1 which backs up this design. Maybe they are real?

Watch HSV sales plummet and 2nd hand values strengthen. Everyone ive spoken to about this new design hates it especially that front end. Its almost "sportivo"

The Jury is out on this one for me.
One thing though...they do look standout from the base models....but maybe too much going on.

Yeah they are on all the euros. Audi has the DRL's and BMW has the Angel eyes. Merc has DRL's on new models also

Yeah, I am too out on this with mixed feelings if this is the definate series 2. Does it kind of take you back to how the VN HSV's looked like = front/rear spoilers?
Also if the 2 engines options are a goer. The 317KW car/engine is $..,... & the 320KW car/engine $..,000 is how many thousands of dollars more.
I personally think it is a bit of a joke. What is HSV doing here!

:teach: I honestly can`t understand why you would bother with only a 3 kw difference. It`s not as if you are going to notice it :sway:
HSV are saying there is going to be a noticable difference in 0-60 and QTR mile times. I can`t see this happening with only a 3kw gain.

Not a fan.:sigh: Don't mind the lights though.
Kind of looks like they have a new design direction or something....weird.

Still not sure ... so much happening, there's bits & pieces everywhere ... I'll wait to see them in the metal before making my mind up I think.
Still leaning towards a Grange ...
Hmm, looks bad in the pics.
Sometimes, less is more.
I might pick up a current Senator or GTS before they dry up.

The VE HSV seem to be hard to tell as to looks as the new models/new looks dont look that good until you see them in the flesh. Unfortunately it still wont help me as I am not a fan of the VE but maybe one day it will grow on me. (thus the reason I have not brought one I guess)
Maybe I will like this HSV
Well looks like the spy pics were on the money. I am wary about being too judgemental, as i really didnt like E1 upfront either. Maybe a black E2 GTS will look great, only because a lot of the design detail will be hidden though.
Hmm.

I reckon if you are choosing the colour of the car to HIDE the styling, then maybe you should purchase another car? Everything I have read says "we have styled the E2 HSV's from what the public wanted". I'm not sure the public wanted an aftermarket looking body kit? Sounds like the designers are searching for why they did a poor job. Different just for different sake.
My opinion only....I do like the DRL's though, even if they are audi knockoffs, who cares.
I have a theory: HSV will continue to sell 5000 cars (or thereabouts) p.a. no matter what! As long as Holden continue to donate "interesting" (somewhat overpowered) family sedans - HSV will be there to dress them up and flog them off. And revheads will be lining up to buy them. I reckon their biggest constraint (to sales growth) is more likely how quickly they can whack on those plastic bodykits and roll them out the door. Their market is tiny, FPV and HSV combined is probably less than 1% of the entire aussie passenger car market. Most of their customers just wouldnt buy anythign else (i did say "most" Nick!)... I just reckon there will always be a market for these things, no matter what. Hell, I reckon if they remade the VN Group A, they would easily sell 2000 of those in a year... Anyway, I predict E2 will set some sales records in the first month. Bah! :)

I reckon you're right mate ... and I reckon there is a bloody good chance I'll end up with one at some stage, I'll just need to "make it me".
I can't deny it ... when it comes to the car for the family, nothing else under $150K interests me ... and I'm not spending $150K on something for the kids to trash.
I think the Senator has real promise, and I've always like the Grange ... but the wheels are SHITE and I'm really not sure about that rear bar. However they are both relatively easy fixes.
Not sure yet ... I'm keen to see them in the metal though.

F**k that is ugly....looks like its got a lancer cyborg type body kit on it
How many vents/grills/openings/random shit can you fit on the front of a car
Good news for current HSV owners though, they should hold their price nicely now.

quite simply i like it.its different and good to see the gts is going back to being the flagship of hsv.a nice black gts is the go.

Spill the beans John ... how do they look in person.
I'd love to know if quad pipes will work in the rear bar, I could almost live with it (on a dark coloured car) if they look good ... just not a fan of those exhaust tips at all. Not too sure about the Senator rims either, a fair few have said they look great in person ?
I warming ... but it's not like Series 1, loved that straight off and placed an order the day of release. I'll give this one 6 months and see what I think.
Love to hear your opinion mate ... wish HSV was in Sydney.

Well today, I had the opportunity to go down to HSV Head Office and get a tour of the factory and more importantly view the new series 2 HSV`s.
I have been there before but I still like to see how things are done these days. There were only a few New HSV`s getting assembled as dealers will not be getting stock for about 2 weeks.
First impressions were:
Better than expected ,but not as good as when the First E Series were released. I think selecting the right colour will have a major say in what looks good and what doesn`t. There is a lot of blacked out sections and a lot of scoops and vents.
The front Daylight Running Lights (DRL) actually look OK but in my opinion would have looked better if they were directly below the headlight.I asked if they could have been placed there and their response was "The front reinforcement bar will interfere".
Interior is unchanged , Sheetmetal is unchanged other than the bonnet on R8`s ,GTS and Maloo. Senator does not get the vents in the bonnet.
The new exhaust tips look OK but they are very similar to the FPVs. You may be able to put after market qaud tips ,if you prefer ,as they are only appear to be clamped on.
The Grange will NOT get any changes at all, other than new wheels and exhaust options (Bet you didn`t want to hear that Nick), not even the new front bar, which I thought was a bit strange.
Anyhow there is a nice write up here on most of the changes.....Cheers John
