Hey guys

A few of you may know of me from LS1 and other sites - and I thought now I have a V8 that I may run some better times than my old 6 did!!

I have a VE SSV Wagon in Voodoo blue and 6 speed auto
Currently have a DUS OTR, Manta 2.5inch catback and Mafless tune by Oztrack

I have AFM at the moment, and can return some amazing economy figures with it since the tune

However, I am getting rid of the AFM stuff to whack a cam combo in her

After the bigger stick is in it, I am planning on taking her to WSID to see what she can do - I am hoping for a 12.7-12.8 on some ok street tyres
Then maybe a triple plate stally and maybe a bigger cam to boot?

Hope to meet some more of you guys in the future
I am a full time uni student studying Exercise Science at the University of Wollongong - plan to stay for some post grad qualifications too - any excuse to stay around the girls in my faculty..... :bravo: :woohoo: :woot:

Anyway - I hope to pick up some track tips here and there from you guys, as most here seem to know a thing or two about appropriate setup etc!

Cheers
Mark

No seriously welcome :D and I might add you can't run decent times on on "ok" street tyres so let me know when your thinking of coming up and if I can I'll throw you my mt's for the night ;)

You are a legend Daz - might try not to get lost again though! Boy was that embarrassing! lol

I didn't have any right to be on here with the V6 though! Now that i have an 8 and a cam, springs, rods, lifters and more are sitting next to my feet as I type, waiting to be slotted in, I thought I would start to actually become a little bit educated about the WSID stuff - I only went with the V6 before as I had just signed up to trade her in so I didn't care about the tyres etc anymore!

It's lucky I have a wagon though so i can fit the beer that would be required for a trip to yours!!!

I prob won't put her on the strip till the new year, as I might whack in a tranny cooler and stuff first for some insurance!

Can't wait!

I will get some pics up soon daz - just the only camera i have is on my phone, and my computer has a fit when i connect it, so I will do that after my uni exams which finish later this month - can't risk the computer dieing - too much work on here!!!

And i am sure you feel heaps better after an insulting PM too - good job

Cheers mate

LOL at the V6 comment......if only the alloytec was in that league with dunc's..............can't see an alloytec in a car that could win the nsw supersprint title unfortunately - oh well!

The 6L goes nicely though!

Never feel bad about a V6 Mate they can be made into some awesome machines. This was the HOTTEST car to have in the US in the 80's.

0lzqI7wvZvU

1987 Buick Grand National....love that car!
3.8 litre and 1000+hp, Imagine if it was properly strapped tight to the dyno
The bone stock version of this had 1 turbo and was rated at 250hp.

Cheers,
Steve

LOL, yeah that 6 goes well too!

My old omega had around 155ish rwkw, so wasn't too bad for an alloytec. Handled well on kings and monroes, fit mowers in the back to run a business, and went to the tip every weekend - all in all, it did the job very nicely.

Well i have still put no pics up!!! I know, I will get around to it!

But an update is still needed - got the cam etc in the car
Pulled 323.3rwkw through the auto and some shabby rear tyres! Quite happy

The car goes sooooo hard now compared to before - and the cam idle is quite nice!
Cam is a 224/228@112 on XER lobes with some LS7 lifters and LS7 valley cover to get rid of the AFM.

Hoping to get to WSID soonish - just need to source some 17inch or above wheels and tyres! Bloody rear brakes not letting 16s on!!!

It is great being part of the 300+club now!!
