What a great time we live in.

Here are a couple of bargains I have recently got.

Battery from mobile phone clapped out. Went into mobile phone shop. Quoted price $39. Ebay from Hong Kong, same battery $7.99 delivered.

Tomtom charger almost melted. Dick Smith/Tandy do not sell them. Must go to Tom Tom. Quoted price $49.50 Ebay USA, delivered $12.30

Golf Clubs
Titleist F3 3 wood and Hybrid 17 degree. Quoted price here, $375 for 3 wood alone. 3balls golf USA. Both delivered for $320!!

Not major kills, but sitting on your butt and hand delivered to your door...hard to beat.

Fixed a broken LCD in my N95.
Shops want $150+ to replace screen. Ebay screen and tools delivered to my door within 2 days - $40 and 5min of my time to replace screen.

I got all my decals stickers for the GTS throught a ebay shop. Best service and quaility. Price about 1/2 of what most were charging. I got all the decals including more yet to go on for $580 including postage. Exceptional customer services and just could not do enough to help me. They were from australia and all the rest.

I got heaps of good bargains. The stuff I sell normally goes ok too but lately Ebay seems to have changed from the big last minute bidding war to people bidding early and no big war or big price hike at the end. Not sure if others have found the same.

Be careful with ebay golf clubs, so many are fake especially the big brands. If you need a contact for good golf gear in NSW pm me. We might need to organise a track chat golf day???

That's been mentioned a few times ... I'm keen, coming up on 5 years since I've hit a ball though ... it'll be messy.

These are not fakes. The mobs I deal with in the states are huge with over 40,000 transactions.

Do you work in a pro shop?

The last venue mentioned was the Springs at Peats Ridge which would involve a cruise up the old pacific hwy.

I can organise discount rates and also a mate of mine is the head chef at Mangrove Mountain Country Club just up the road. From all reports the meals are brilliant. (And he drives a cammed Ls1 ute!)

Well then, pick a Sunday and I'm there!

+ 1 for the meals. There has also been a change of the course layout at Mangrove Mountain recently too. No more uphill (read: cliff) between the 7th and 8th.

I once worked in a pro shop and did a bit of work in a large golf shop. I used to play 7-8 times a week (yes every day and often twice on Saturday!) but golf got pushed aside by Rugby, sailing, women and cars until Dan got me out on the course a few months ago.

A TC social day sounds fun, get a couple of buggies, a few cases and away we go!

Scored a brand new (in a sealed box) 60" HD LG Plasma for $2600, had Harvey Norman receipts for $6000 with it. :)

Was an insurance thing, a shop got knocked over and insurance took too long to replace so they bought a new one, then insurance gave them an other new 60" as policy said replacement so they put it on eBay.

Also scored a $55,000 26' Scarab for $24,000, rich young yank guy from surfers just wanted out and back to the USA, sometimes it isn't too good to be true, everyone thought it was a hoax, I called him, shot up to Surfers, took the boat for a run and hit the buy it now, then everyone wanted it, too late. :)

Far more good than bad stories, you gotta be careful though.

I could go on for ages with good deals from eBay.

Cheers

Steve

For all you dedicated ebayers, I use Powersnipe.

It costs $80 a year, but has saved me a bomb. It also takes the emotion out of bidding, and helps when you bid overseas and the auction end in the middle of the night. Set and forget!
