car insurance?

my car insurance is due and I'm sick of AAMI lying to me about the agreed value.
i just put an on-line application with just cars but i would appreciate any other company i can try.
my car is a 1999 vt calais with a single turbo.
also shannons won't insure because i don't have a lock up garage.

I have been with Just Cars for my last 4 cars, happy with the agreed value most of the time and they have had the cheapest premium.

I am also in the smash repair industry and Just cars is good to work with, the assessors and fair and repairs approved fairly quickly. I would also highly recommend GIO but doubt they would insure you type of car, might be worth a try anyway. I would stay away from NRMA, they are a pain in the arse to work with and try to get out of repair costs as cheaply as possible.

I told AAMI to stick it when I got the R8, they wanted to insure it for about 10-12k LESS than what I was buying it for. I ended up with Suncorp who im with atm. Ultimately I want to be with Shannons but need to wait another few months until its been 4 years since the GTS was stolen.

agreed value was about $23k AAMI drops it's value every year like you wouldn't believe but they still want you to pay the same amount.
the letter i got yesterday said the most they will insure it was $12k and they still want me to pay $1100.

Unfortunately for you it is with Shannons.

I should have swapped it to a laid up policy, as it hasn't moved since the trackchat drag day :(

Hopefully i'll get a chance to tear down the motor during chrissie to new years

i have the R35 with Suncorp; they had the best rate going, better than Shannons with the 10% CAMS discount too.

Keep in mind Suncorp now own APIA, Shannons, AAMI, Just Car, Bingle & GIO.

i just tried suncorp and they won't insure it with the turbo.
i am trying with just cars but they want a full detailed list with photo's, i just finished doing that and fired away the email so i'll see what they say.

When shopping around years ago, I was conscious of not describing it as a turbo calais.
I would send around this description ... which has since changed - but it gives an idea of how I didn't make the Turbo the only part of my car that should be of interest.

Cannot fault Shannons!
Even got the home & contents insured with them as well.2 cars + home insurance $2200p/a (approx). I'm happy with that,peace of mind if you will....
I usually upped the price of the SS at a cost,but this year the did it for no extra cost!
Thinking of putting SS in laided up insurance as well,only did just over 1500km last 12mnths.....

i just remembered the commonwealth bank offered me car insurance so i'll go to my branch and get a quote.
