View Full Version : Car battery woes
Hi guys
I've having issues with my car battery; i've gone through 2 batteries in two weeks. The scangauge tells me the voltage is sitting at 12.4 at rest (just accessories on) and about 13.8 whilst driving. Something is wrong. A couple of weeks ago i was getting a warning indicator on the dash "rear lamp failure" but I couldnt find any blown bulb. I have a feeling perhaps some bulb is staying on permanently, or else perhaps my alternator is stuffed. Any ideas?

I would be leaning towards the alternator. Good luck with it.

No tracker Sonny. I did have one on a HSV of mine a while ago (insurance co demanded it) and as you suggest it was a right royal pain, depleting the battery, slowly but surely. I went through a few batteries.
