Yeah Dunc it works, I have it on mine..

But it's an absolute pain to run trapster when you're trying to drive and listen to your already running gps!

And it chews up the battery quicksmart

I tried this and was a bit turned off by it until I played with the settings. There's some real nice ways to customise this to your needs. eg I've turned off all crappy notifications and only have live RBT/Defect/Speed traps set to warn me by pushing notifications when I get 2km next to one. So there's no need for me to have the app on and on top of this the notifications are only set to push alerts between certain times of the day depending on what day. When I'm at work for example it's off and late at weeknights it's off but on the weekend it's on 24/7.

I've even reported an RBT but for that sort of stuff you need to pull over to do it safely, which I don't mind doing. Their video shows a driver seamlessly driving past a trap and reporting it within seconds but in reality the iPhone sucks balls for that sort of stuff because the internet connection speed is slooooow.

In any case, try it out, customise it to your needs and leave it be. It might save you some real headache one day and that is worth the small drain on the battery and a few minutes of your time to set it up.

I don't think it's cool that you can report rbt stations.. IMO... If you take the risk of driving under the influence then you deserve to get caught :)

Have to agree with that. RBT are essincial and really they should be applauded not people are who are already drunk getting warned out. Understand the delays from them but still. If you see the crap that goes on up here with the amount of drunks on the road it would make more sence.

Does this program eat into your data downloads?

Couldn't agree more ... I'd never warn anyone of an RBT station.

Only on Friday my mate got cleaned up by a tool running a red - I'd reckon $20k damage to the HSV and apparently the tool totalled his van - rolled it.
I don't even have a problem with speed traps in genuinely dangerous situations. But the ferkers always only set up where the road is really really good. Safety, my arse!

I wonder if the Highway Patrol can claim their 'Trapster' subscriptions as a tax deduction?

Trapster takes 10 minutes to upload and HWP can change locations in 2 minutes.

Yep ... pretty useless for HWP cars and every other camera has a warning ... so if you get caught you're an idiot anyway.
