As the title suggests...

I'm thinking of doing a run to Bathurst in maybe late Jan with Aeron in the falcon..

Where? Meet @ M4 westbound McDonalds at 0900 for 0930 departure
When? 20th Janurary 2007
Why? For the hell of it
How? By car
Who? All trackchat members must be in attendance
What? Trackchat run to bathurst and back, nice relaxed drive to the mountain, where the Ford is King. :stick: Might even do some shooting and video if the weather is good!

Nah, sorry. I know we have something on the Sunday, and I'm not sure the SS has enough kays on it for a blast down the quarter - and of course, I have never actually drag raced before.....ever...:hide: But in my defence, I have spent time on a couple of V8 supercar circuits down in Vic.

You should come to both days, the drag day is very relaxed and friendly and its great fun.

No such thing as not enough kms ... Carl hit Wakefield the week after he picked up his R8 !!! Plus it doesn't matter if you haven't done it ... there is a first time for everyone.

Yeah I saw the vid :D. As far as the drag racing is concerned, I would hate to stuff it up - or break something. I had a very bad experience with the Clubsport I traded for the SS and I am still building my confidence in the SS.

Another Homer-ism tigs ...

Homer is told to hit any key to begin, but he can't find the "Any" key ... he can find Piggup ( Page Up ) and Catoral ( Ctrl ) ... but no "Any" key.

So anyway, he gets so thirsty with all the "computer hacking" that he "orders a Tab" ( by hitting the Tab key ) ... which of course makes the program start as all he had to do was hit any key.

It kinda losses it in the translation ... but I was laughing and that was most likely the intention of the initial post anyway.

Ah Mr Keen, yes you can drive the track as it is a public road for most of the year - but it is a strictly enforced 60 kph zone - and MEAN strictly enforced. I was at the winery on mountain straight when a very tidy Tiger Micah VK Brock look alike went belting past. Within 15 seconds he had company - all red and blue and white all over :lmao:

guys I would LOVE to attend, we've gotta start clocking up some major kays on the Adventra which is yet to attend a cruise, and as the LS1ers know how Ive been trying to organise a bloody trip to anywhere for ages, but the 20th is the only bloody day Im busy.

There will be 4 girls would still love to come but you know, cant get out of this one!

Just a suggestion if you do go - take a detour and go Bells Line Of Road. It'll add about 45 mins to the trip but its well worth it, and pops out at Maccas Lithgow.

Just make sure its not windy like the failed LS1 Brocks Bells to Bathurst when we had to dodge some mega branches, yes Ive got the battle scars on my roof still!

appologies guys and girls

a) it clashed with other things which I cancelled
b) this week Ive been playing another job role at work, so by the time Ive been getting home Ive been too stuffed to even get onto the net (and being out the front their internet is very restricted)
c) too top it off my cars locked up at work as I had to deliver a new car to a customer late last night then bring our loan car back. The damn thing was a 2 day old convertable whose roof got stuck closed and the customer demanded we deliver it to him before this beautiful warm weekend :stick:

I dont think our loan car would be welcome to the cruise somehow lmao, those who know where I work will know why (and no its not a Holden, Ford, Toyota, Mitsubishi or anything like that) :eyes:

looks good ... Im pissed off I couldnt go after all that because I would love a pic of my car coming around Forrest Elbow or down Conrod or something, everytime ive been Ive either only been able to photograph the car by myself, its been fairly crap weather, or Ive had a crap camera :whip:

Just walked in the door @ 8pm . Was good to meet all the new faces , well done to the organisers . Kyle i hope to purchase some pics from you :burnout: :burnout: . Kellie and i turned off at Katoomba for a look she hade never been there , took her on the railroad down the mountain & the cable car .. Time to have some sleep for another early start tomorrow @WSID..

sounds like all had fun.

as ive mentioned on other forums if you can get the weather right its a nice walk around the track.

When I did a walk around it was very quiet traffic wise, maybe 3 or 4 cars at most (then the Falcon GT owner club but they were nice people) and it gives you a better understanding of the track - you see things youve never seen before.

Hopefully this years Brocks Bells to Bathurst will be a good one and cooler weather so a few people can take the walk. I'll make a note now for those interested that its an annual tribute cruise not to reflect on what we lost last year, but to reflect on the good times that Peter brought to us all (and to continue those good times), as mentioned elsewhere he is the reason quite a number of people are behind the wheel of an LS1 or a Holden of some sort ... the cruise goes ahead no matter what on the Sunday that is 2 weeks before the great race. But thats waaaay later in the year, just thought Id mention it now tho while the opportunity presents itself.

BTW Kyle awesome shots mate, Im going to the next one guaranteed!! I need a photo of that quality for my wallpaper at work!!!!!

Obviously my favourite is the first photo, being my "2nd car" and all!!!! Sorry I couldn't be there, not that I didn't wanna, just that my bed has been calling me quite a bit lately and I really didn't wanna strain it's vocal chords. Thanks mate. I was sorry to have missed you all at the bbq but not getting up till 12pm was awesome!! I've been catching up on DVD's, lazing about and generally taking it easy. Did not envy Troy getting up at 4am/5:30am one little bit!!!
