A mate is running Superlap in an 1150kg car.
It's good for 61 seconds at WP on (my) slicks
He wants advice on what semi to run?
Any experience with a fast light car on semis - especially at EC?
Thanks
Steve i would say the yokohama a050's are currently the best r-spec tyre available.

Thanks Duncan. I will pass that on.
Anyone used Hankook Z221? Any direct info??

Not necessarily Dunc I've thought about this a lot, even I believed the Yoki's were superior but their marketing is so influential it's hard to think otherwise.
During the past year I have proven the Toyo 888's are as competitive, especially in the colder months. You and a few others commented on their lack of performance on heavier cars. My Evo weighs 1400 + my 100kgs, no lightweight but not near the GTR's and some commodores. My best results were between April and August. The car was relatively mild in mods with good power and handling.
I've tried the Yoki's and Toyo's back to back late last year. Results were close, overall the fastest time was on 888's but consistency to 050's. Yoki 050's certainly are great, but the fastest times I have posted are on the Toyo. I've noticed a few people who ran Toyo's and now on 050's have not concluded with times one is more dominant than the other.
Just to throw a spanner into the works, at our recent WP day RE55's were the dominant tyre ahead of 050's.
Superlap will be in a colder season, the same time last year I broke the EC record using 3rd hand Toyo 888's.
Not plugging here but sharing my research through practice and results not here say.
fair point Jase. I've just seen and heard a lot of people give feedback saying how much more they like the 50's, across a wide range of cars (including inwood, and a few people on here smash their pb's in bigger cars too). Can't beat hands on comparisons though and you have done it.
