Yesterday round 3 of the NSW SSC was held at Wakefield Park. It was a perfect Wakefield day where many records tumbled.
I was stoked to run a 1:02.44 smashing almost half a second off my previous PB. Here's a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5rX-rE_Cvk)
At least three TrackChatters smashing records, whohoo!
Well Round 3 was certainly one for the Record Books. 8 cars finished with
times below 65 seconds with 5 of them road registered. The Outright Record,
3 Type Records and 6 Class records were broken.
Andrie Tan set the fastest time of the day with an amazing 57.736 setting a
new Type 5 and Class 5E Records. As Type 5 cars are not eligible for the
Outright trophy it is also not eligible for the Outright Record but that
should not take away from Andrie's performance. He broke the Type 5 record
by 5.474 seconds and the Class 5E record by 7.544. An amazing performance.
Congratulations, Andrie.
Duncan Forrest is continuing on in his winning way setting an Outright,
Type 4 and Class 4D record in his GTR R35 with a time of 62.440. It is
unfortunate that the record books will only mention Duncan as breaking the
Outright Record but it should not go without saying that Marek Tomaszewzki
also broke the previous Outright Record record with a sub 63 time of 62.835.
The old record was 63.080. It's too bad that Duncan was around on the day.
Congratulations Duncan and commiserations Marek.
The other Type record broken was by Stuart Inwood in his older GTR with a
great time of 64.346. That time also broke the Class SVD record.
The other Class Record breaking runs were: -
Rob Neal broke the Class 3C record BMW 323 with a time of 68.046. This broke
one of the oldest records on the book set by Guwy Walker back in 2002.
Steve lacey broke his own Class 3D record in his old faithful Torana with a
time of 67.923. He broke his own record but took about 1 second of it.
James Dick broke the SVB record by over 2 seconds with a great time of
65.905 in his PRB.
The day was very well run as usual by Mike Hicks and his MX5 clubmates. It
is no surpise that the MX5 Club is leading the Club championship Pointscore.
Anyone with some video or pics?
