Lifted from another forum (thanks Netrider :D): http://biertijd.com/mediaplayer/?itemid=20660. It goes for a couple of minutes, but worth it. Very impressive.

I always wanted to attend a shuttle launch. Some mates have done it and they reckon it is awesome!!!

This fella didnt even have to leave his seat on a plane.

Eric, that was simply stunning. WOW WOW WOW

I have always been a big fan of the Shuttles and long wanted to attend a launch.

Now that they have DONE AWAY with the program and will have their final launch in November this year.

This has made me decide to go, otherwise ill miss out. NASA is bringing a new vehicle out called the Orion, next decade sometime.

Thanks for posting Mitta E :D

We have tried three times to catch a shuttle launch, the bloody things hardly ever go up on schedule. Imagine how busy it will be around that area for the last ever launch.

One of my brothers, just happened to be staying in Orlando, guess what, bloody thing goes up, he is in a store, hears the noise, walks outside and sees it going up...................................

Oh well....

My mate told me it is pretty hard to 'time' a shuttle launch. He mentioned something about paying to get access to the best vantage point, then if the launch got delayed you lost your money and had to pay again..but he also told me a way the aussies worked out to get around this. Typical aussies hey? I will try and call him and suss out the go.

Looked like a big white pointer.
Awesome stuff is space travel.
A block of flats pulling 17000 kms an hour, give or take a couple.
Correct me if i'm wrong.

Good viewing Mr Magoo.

Watching a Space shuttle launch is on my bucket list.

Seeing a space shuttle launch was on my bucket list also, fortunatly for me i had to do a last minute trip to Daytona Beach in Februrary this year. Got to see STS-129 take off just after 4am. I didnt make it down close to Kennedy Space centre, i watched it from Ponce Inlet.

Was the most amazing engineering moment!!! The light, the rocket booster trail, then the most unbeliveable sound that follows!!! Seriously turned night into day.

Also, ticked off another item on the bucket list while there too. 24 cars going past nose to tail at 200mph in less than 1 second. Hell yeah, Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona 500. I didnt make the big race, watched everything up to it.
