PS3 + Play TV + new Hard Drive = ;-)

Just thought I would share my recent upgrade on my PS3.

For my birthday this year I was given the Play TV add on to the PS3 which turns the PS3 to a HD DVR, unfortunately my PS3 only had a 40gb hard drive and once you have system and game data it left me with only 17gb for recording.

After a bit of reseach and procrastination I finally upgraded the hard drive.
Using a 640gb seagate 2.5 (9.5mm) SATA hard drive I now have 500gb available for recording.

So if you thought your PS3 was getting outdated etc... consider upspecing it to include DVR capabilities.

Sounds like a good setup. I very nearly bought a Play TV thingy the other week as there was one left 50% off at one of the Clive Peters stores being shut down. Been so busy with work lately I rarely have the energy to stay up and watch my fav shows.

PlayTV is a nice gadget/addon for PS3.

On a similar note has anyone purchased or rented movies through the PlayStation store? Anyone with thoughts on how it compares to Apple TV? (for those who have used both?)
