Hey Guys,
Little toy i've been playing with for the past 3 years.
2000 Hyundai Excel.
It's a Steel/molly spaceframe, all design by ourselves.
Few goodies inside include:
sr20de (for now)
Alcon 4 piston calipers all round
312*25mm floating rotors front and rear (putting 330*32 on the front soon)
Ap master cylinders.
Willwood pedal box.
r200 diff.
Molly front sway bar with lola blade adjusters.
Penske rear sway bar.
Penske 4 ways arriving soon.
Enkei rpf1s. 17*9.5 fronts and 17*10 rears.
Rd6s Holinger sequential
Stainless exhaust.
Alloy radiator.
Plus a heap of pointless other crap...

That was a joke!
Few plans with the car is to run it as a 2 litre for a while, sort out the chassis, play with a few out there suspension ideas and so on. Once i'm more then happy with the handling it will get a bigger engine. Grabbing together a few bits for a 5L e85 (supercar block, yates nascar heads ect....) windsor at the moment, if it doesn't make enough hp, can always use it as a spare for the mustang.

couldn't imagine a 5L e85 engine wouldn't have enough hp!! Especially in the chassis you've built, it aint that big!

Few cars that are nice in dimension and shape from your list.
Z4 in my opinion would be the perfect dimensions and body layout for a sports sedan, sill panel height to the roof is small. The cockpit is fairly close to the rear wheels leaving you leg room, the roof is narrow for less drag. As for the dimension, you could stretch it to 2596*1990mm. We are also building a monaro, it's to big in the wheelbase/overall width. z4 is roughly in the middle of the 2 cars.

Front dampers bolted up well, just need to make new spacers as the proflex ones don't fit, as for the rear, a bolt in cradle needs to be made to raise the pick up point by roughly 2", going away from the inboard set up and direct mounting the damper.

Front and rear guards were all done with hand tools, quiet a few hours in making them but i think it's paid off.

tank is 32L plus the swirl pot which is close to 1 litre...
that would be good for about 10 laps around PI though there is provisions to connect a secondary tank into the system...

Noice... also that it is a tall tank rather than a wide tank. Something i hope to replicate @ that 35ltr mark + a 'simple' add in tank for enduros etc.
Edit: out of interest, what do you do about foam filling and/or bladder?

Are you talking 10 laps with the SR or 10mlaps with the 8?
Is the Bent 8 just for shitsandgiggles.. or has it been an option all along, as it seems to fit in there very comfortably:yep:
Profi

v8 is for shits and giggles for now, though has always been the plan. 10 laps is with the v8, the little sr's seem to suck next to nothing. 10-15 litres a race for a decent engine apparently.

As for the wing, it's a carbon gt3 lambo wing.
