I guess this is positive news! Wakefield goes on, employees have a job, we have a racetrack, and they say it is being resurfaced.

Hopefully the management will start up a 'Fun Day' style set up at Wakefield too - on dates that dont conflict with the Winton Fun days :D

Looks like Wakey will be getting a face lift so to speak. And a V8 Super car developement series race telecast on 7.

I hope they dont hike the prices up to much.

Dont know about pricing but if they follow suit with the way Winton is managed, it should be ok. I mean where else can you go to a track and drive all day if you want for just $25 bucks. And last time I went to watch the level one V8 supercars, the entry fee was quite good too, but that was a few years ago now...

Yeah really good news. Heard about this last week, but wasnt sure who the buyer was. I did hear though that Wakefield has been and still does make quite good money. Its just that Gary lost interest in it and has been trying to sell it for many years so hasn't put any money into it.

BTW, it came from the Winton Motor Raceway website if anyone is interested. As I live down Winton way, it just so happens to be my track of choice, so never fear - any news from Winton will appear on here :yep: :thumbs:

No dramas Febs. And Kyle, Winton is about 80km south of Albury, takes a tad over an hour to get there if you sit on the speed limit - which is advisable on the Hume in Victoria - with their 3kph speed tolerance for revenue raising......
