View Full Version : Horse Riding Anyone?
There was an earlier post that asked about possible places to go horse riding.
I'm pretty keen to organise something along these lines, I've been a keen horse rider for a while now but don't get the opportunity very often.
I'm a reasonably good, experienced rider and more than happy to help out anyone who wants to come along but hasn't ridden much before. Also very keen to meet up with other experienced riders so we can have a bit of a go !!
Anyone interested? I have been recommended a place at Ingleburn that does a variety of rides, but am most interested in their weekend breakfast ride - which includes breakfast (go figure!!).
Please let me know if you would be up for this and I will make further enquiries.
Cheers
Tigs
I'll put my hand up for sure, used to love horseriding! :)
Different kind of track for TC, but awesome fun :D

Excellent Kyle.
Have you been to the places you mention? I haven't been riding in Sydney for ages, so if you know a good place feel free to suggest them.
cheers

Not for 15 years I dont think :P
I grew up on a farm and I love horses.
We had 3 Australian stock horses on our farm for years.
I would be in for this but being down here in Wagga makes it hard.
Lets just say that I will be in depending on the date.

Hi "Tigs" I'm not interested in horse riding, but I do own a share of a Country Holiday farm,it's on 350 acres with 5 - 6 birth cabins own kitchen & bathroom and it has horse riding, a Motor Cross track, swimming pool, tennis courts, a games room billiard tables/ table tennis, and a childrens play area...it cost's me about $1500 a year maintenace, management, and our Wrangler's look after our 50 or so horses.
if you are interested in something like this, there a leases and shares available now...
check www.hartleyfarm.com.au.
we usually go up once a month..if we can..I just spent 8 days up there at christmas...
it might be just what you want.
Cheers

If your not a member it will cost you $25 per day for the MotoX track and the the same for horse riding...but it's all free if you own a share...
to book a cabin it's about $ 50 a night for guest's I have already booked a spare cabin for the long weekend..unfortunately Owners get first preference, but the farm is hardly booked out on general weekends..long weekends are usually busy.
How do you become a member? That site thats down tells me i guess? :P

Ok there are 2 ways you can either lease the farm for a 12 month period or buy it outright, the share's can range any whee from $ 1000 to $ 3000.
It's not much, BUT I suggest to lease first. as it might no be for every one, due to travel and work committments..Weve' owned ours for 4 years now...and intend to keep it forever.

Hi Tigs.

Definately peaceful...they are very strict with behavior, especially with guests, as of last year no one under 18 can be on the farm unless they are with an adult, weve had a few young blokes treat the place like a donut pad
So they were removed off the site, some have been banned for good, for any one who has kids, it's great...and if you don't it's even better:)
The Farm (as we call it) is really a Family getaway, the share holders could be any one from a storeman to a Lawyer...the good thing that no body judges you for who or what you are, But...there are 2 groups the Dorks;) who are into Horse riding and the cool one's like me:lmao: who are into Bikes...

Thats good they are strict, the last thing you need when your chilling is having some hoons trashing the joint - more disrespectful than anything.
I got no kids dont you worry haha :lmao: not that i know of?! So Tigs whats happening!

well, to be honest, scat and I won't have a free weekend til about May at this stage, and I hadn't planned waiting that long !
My idea was just to have a morning or afternoon hack somewhere.....
I fancy the breakfast ride at Ingleburn, as I first suggested. This place was suggested to me by a friend who used to work there, and I trust her. But if someone knows a better place, and have used it recently, I'm open to suggestions.
Now - we need to find a Sunday that fits in with everyone......hmm, that should be easy - NOT! lol
Jan is all but gone, how does late Feb suit?
