A few guys here would have seen a few pics of the new 'off-roader', but for the others, here goes...
Decided to significantly 'up the anti' with this car. 99% of bits are already purchased and is just waiting for the slack arse owner to put the thing back together

Still un-decided really, but building to IPRA specs. Then again CT is on the radar. 95% it will be IPRA but won't race it this time until it is mostly sorted and within top 4-ish. Less smash and bash is good for an old guy like me
Just put a coat of paint on it

Very nice!! Quite an exciting project.
I take it that Steve Hodges will be lending a hand in the build? I love his workshop! V8utes everywhere :)
I actually bought the car (well the shell) from Steve on the proviso i can use his shed (how bloody good is it!) and assistance where required to finish it off. Many hats off to Steve - legend! Ive actually become pretty good friends with he and his wifie.
Makes good sense to me - especially since I can't see any strut/cage braces....
Ive actually tied the struts back into the cabin cage, but without a strut brace (going side to side) it anit triangulated.... so next best thing was to create a 'strut brace' inside the cabin which half spans the cage member going to the strut. Not ideal by any means, but best of a bad situation. Similarly the drivers side 'strut brace' can't be straight (hits the steering column) - bit of a pisser, but better than nothing again.

That would be one of Prof's many weapons he keep hidden away in his shop:cool:

Now complimenting all the trick electrical/data stuff, add this --->
http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/choppo21/IMG_1156.jpg
Hopefully the fully integrated Display + Data + GPS + Vid + Vid Sync set up will make what is now a cumbersome setup much more reliable, neat and 'fool proof'.
Having different data systems, gauge's incar, seperate GPS logger, seperate vid, etc means there is always one not working and/or forgot to turn on :headbang: Let alone trying to combine them all.
Hopefully this is a turn key operation with atuo everything once set up.
EDIT: one of the main reasons for the above systems, is some genuine driver training. Gathering data on TPS, Brake pressures, steering angle etc etc, i hope to gain much with interpretation from experienced drivers i trust AND if i get 'a really good driver' in the car (i.e. a Tander or similar), i can see how/what they do differently...
SO COOL!! now we just need that tyre pressure gauge that stores the date and has the built in pyrometer and we will have every available gadget which = ~25kw

It's Mark isn't it? That's probably a good idea actually, always keen to learn a few tricks/ tips. Particularly on the accessories side etc.
One thing ive got to try to remember, despite my natural inclination to turn it into show car, is my car is a race car to be primarily raced in heated battle i.e. build it real clean, neat and presentable but not show quality as im gonna have farkers smash into it and/ or me smash into them on track :bat:
Can you pm me Mark's general Suburb location (not exact address)?? Ill have to give him a buzz and see if i can take a peek :)
P.S. thanks to everyone for the nice comments, i appreciate it :)

Cheers xsesiv! The colour of the inside/under is, and i quote my words to painter...... "match this silver that is on my wheels' i.e. the same silver Team Dynamics use :) Sorry, no idea what it is, but comparing to my old Simmons silver, it's slightly lighter and a bit more metallic.
P.S. Tony, doing a bit of a Backyard Rescue ATM, so work has temporarily stopped on car hence no new pics. Should be back on it in a few weeks (i hope). Ill keep the pics flowing once i get back onto the car :)

"how long is a piece of string" :)
Nah, hopefully, car complete and 1st outing in May i reckon - there is just sooo much work to do as just about everything is custom! Then, ill be doing heaps of testing/setup before i actually race it (well that's the plan ATM, might change due to eager-ness).
Need to be on pace with some good set up time before i race this one. Got some trick suspension and other goodies which i have not posted yet which will all need track time to get close to correct
