Hi,
A lot of you wouldn't know that I have a blood disorder called ITP (Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura)
This is a bleeding condition in which the blood doesn't clot as it should. This is due to a low number of blood cell fragments called platelets. My father passed away in 1974 due to a clot on his brain that ruptured (brain haemorrhage) so this is quite life threatening to me.
Normally your immune system helps your body fight off infections and diseases but if you have ITP your immune system attacks and destroys its own platelets. The reason why this happens isn’t known.
I'm taking part in “Worlds Greatest Shave 2011” and for all of you who know me I'm very vain when it comes to my hair so this is HUGE and my head is quite lumpy so should be good for a laugh............ so PLEASE sponsor me :)

The money I raise is used by the Leukaemia Foundation to fund services to support patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myelomas and related blood disorders. All the services are free. My fundraising also funds blood cancer research to find better treatments and cures.
I realise we are in tough times but any monies you can donate would be muchly appreciated.
I will notify you all of the time and place for my shave and will have photographs of the event.
