:headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

... last time I park illegally in a construction zone!

The funny part of this is the sisters response
"It is very surprising" .... What Da!

The fact that these guys have been doing this for some time (according to neighbour), and not been busted is the only suprising part about it all.

Interesting read.

To a degree I can understand the alledged arrogance on the part of the construction workers. Mental picture of workers trying to get construction done and residents parking where ever they think they should = recipe for disaster .... Ahhh I miss Sydney !

For some reason I have a feeling that the residents in the area in question would be fairly "I'll do as I please" and any spare space on the street would be seen as a parking spot which has probably led to the scenario.

Admittedly, using a friggin forklift to move an illegally parked car is going a squidgen too far.:werd: I'm sure it was very surprising for the sister ... "how did that construction zone that has been here for months suddenly spring up overnight?"

I hope Mr Huljich enjoyed his holiday to South America, probably getting some more dental work done on that million dollar smile ... :)

Isn't Columbia in South America ? :stick:

An interesting read there Stav.

How arrogant of the construction company to think that just because someone is parked illegaly they can pic it up and move it.

I would go nuts if that was me, then again I wouldnt park near a construction zone.

I find it very funny... as I have been in this situation many a time...

I dont approve of what they were doing but as Dave said some residents/neighbours to construction are very frustrating.

We were working on a project to put another couple of storeys on a building in the city.. it required heaps of night work so as not to disrupt the exisitng offices... we sectioned of a section of the carpark to enable us to work that night... some arrogant idiot moved the barricades and parked there.

So we place reo bars behind the wheels and rolled it our of the way into a spot across the way. I was there the next day when mr nob came back for his car... he was speachless... tryed accusing us of all sorts of things... but we made sure we didnt damage a thing...

There was a story in the news about 6 years ago where a resident complained to police... the story went some like this....

Plumber had to make a delivery to site... as usual on city jobs there is limited street and onsite parking... so ducked into a neighbours driveway.

While the plumber was on site the neighbour came home. Understandably he was frustrated and decided to park his car in behind the plumbers....

The plumber after seeing his issue asked the resident to move his car... which he repeatedly refused. The plumber stormed back into the site, and returned shortly with two extra guys... I am sure the resident felt a bit nervous at this point...

The workers ignored the resident as they discussed what to do...

they dissapeared and returned with some steel members... which they placed under the plumbers ute. They then go the tower crane to lift the ute over the residents car and onto the street...

The resident was furious and so called the cops etc... and complained that they had lifted the plumbers car ...:headbang: I am sure the cops just wanted to shake hands with the boys for a job well done...

The detail wasnt in the article... I got that from a collegue who worked on the site...

:hmmm: ... I guess I'm the only one who is sick of construction sites overtaking every second road.

I can think of at least 4 streets between home and work (a grand total of 5kms) where half the road is closed ALL DAY because it is full of trucks. I guess it's not the fault of the construction company, probably the fault of the bloody council who keeps on allowing 5 storey buildings to go up in the middle of suburbia.

Ahhh ... what do I care, I will only live there for another month ... :D

Thats the cost of progress...

We get it in Projects all the time....

We want you to extend this... demolish that... build under that....

ohh and did we mention that you cant disrupt our existing operations....

I cant see domestic/apartments stopping anytime soon when rental vacancy rates are at 1%......
