I visited Race Brakes Sydney today to pick up the AP Racing 330mm 4-pot brake kit. I plan on running the 4-pot AP's on the front, with stock sized (and ventilated) molycarbide rotors on the rear.. with Ferodo DS2500 pads. I'm going to smash this combo around Wakefield soon, see how it holds up! Will be interesting, as it is relatively low budget combo.... The quality of the calipers looks awesome though, and it runs off the shelf DBA discs, which is a bonus.. Also, the pads fit the calipers, straight out of the box! Many thanks to Matt at Race Brakes Sydney for the prompt service, and free hat! I will let you knw how it goes Matt.

VERY interested to see how this goes. Mine will be a bit harder to stop (being auto) but if this kit lives up to expectations I'll probably go this way as well.

Interesting to see how this kit goes. The essential ingredient isn't quite right it should be a stubby of crown or tooheys extra dry.

Dunc, very good looking kit there. Are they standard size DBA 4000 6x6 wiper slots???

Oh and how much do you want for your Harrops??

This will be my next direction too. Always wanted AP's.

Having stock size rotors on rear will also have benefit when wanting to go drag racing with ET Streets... no need to keep swapping back to stock size as they already are.

Bomi what prompted the AP purchase, was that Pulse Red offered to buy the Harrops. The harrops are ok provided you dont want to change pads too often (require linishing). For road use, you might only change pads every year, or two, or three.. as you know we tend to go through a set jsut about every track day, and i will be stuffed filing down 4 or 8 pads at the track...

Oh and they are 330mm fronts, but standard rears..

They look like the AP's i'll be getting from Race Brakes in a month or so, but I'll have AP?s front and rear with DBA5000's on the front and 4000?s on the rear. Let me know how the install goes. Then you can do mine :D :D

Looks like we agree on a anumber of things Nick, I am quite partial to Corona's myself. Nothing better than an ice cold Corona at a bbq, I'm getting thirsty just thinking about it.......

Coopers' Pale Ale for me, thanks. Best Aussie beer on the market, and $11 for a six pack! :)

Dunc - can we ask how much? Always loved AP's. They just have that image of a "serious" braking package.

Cheers,
- Febs.

yeah they are a good little kit these, pretty good for a medium budget "front only" solution.. Febs I paid $2750 for the kit which includes calipers, brackets, rotors (dba4000), braided lines and ferodo DS2500 pads. The braided lines dont usually come with brackets (to mount on the car) like the OEM brakes have, however Matt from Racebrakes made up a set for me (worth asking for that, otherwise the lines just "float" around, which is not to my liking).

We got the AP kit on this arvo, we took a few pics, I will post them up later. Once again thanks to Matt for all his assistance, and a big thanks to Mr Lautray for helping install the kit today. Can't wait to try these brakes at Wakefield.

Hehe :p I was about to say the same thing Rick ... VB, the beer for people that prefer to drink dirty dish water ...

  ;)

EDIT: Nice bit of gear Abe, me thinks me might invest in some of Matts slotted and vent OEM sized rotors.

As long as you keep knocking back the fosters/CUB beer guys, helps pay for my next modification :D which incidentally is a set of harrop performance ;) don't touch that tooheys stuff its rubbish!
