Well, it was a great afternoon for me at Winton Motor Raceway. Got there a bit late (2pm...) as it started at 8am, still managed to get sunburnt to a crisp. Lotta tough cars there - plenty of club style race cars, Skyline's including 2 tuff as nails GT/R's, supercharged VP GTS, couple of rexes, quite a few custom built track cars, turboed Celica, an Evo 4 that was reasonably tidy, and plenty more that I have probably forgotten. No pics sorry, will do better this July as that is when I will be out having a dip myself :D Well worth te 25 bucks to get on the track - and free for me as I was just spectating today.

Jeez $25... cheap cheap cheap - is the track good/otherwise prepared ok? How do that do it for that money, many cars on the track?

$25 is brilliant value for money! The track is excellent - prepped as per any other race meet. I'm guessing they do it for that price to get us tightwad country bumpkins out to the track :D There's anywhere up to 40 cars on track, but believe me when I tell you - on a 3.0km track, that is tonnes of room. There is a lot more room than the V8 supercar boys would have you believe. Last time I drove there, we were 5 cars abreast on the main straight - gets a little interesting when you get to turn 1 and 2 esses :up2sum:

Word from my source is that Wakefield will stay as is for the moment unfortunately. But, you never know. BTW, unlike Wakefield, you dont need to pay for a special licence, The $25 covers the whole day, driver or passenger, or both if you really want! The guys I was hanging with were swapping cars and seats so much, I couldnt tell who was where.....
