Guage shielding

I mounted my Scan guage on the dash and after hearing about the guage getting really hot and sometimes not working I thought a little heat shielding was in order.

Having some spare thermo tape laying around I set to applying some to the back the scan guage.

Anywho here's what it looked like.

Is there nothing you cant do with that thermo tape Bomi?

Seriously though, that is one of the issues with the scan gauge, when they get really hot the display fades. I think it is just an LCD thing.
